Very warm, friendly welcome - served tea and delicious shortbread next to the log fire. The wee dram (delicious malt whisky) when we returned in the evening was greatly enjoyed and appreciated. The hosts were very genial and friendly, First rate breakfast.

We stayed in the cottage which was fully self contained. There was a separate sitting room which was comfortable and a more than adequate kitchen. Parking was free and right next to the cottage. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room was delightful

Lovely stay in this great pub. Fridge in room was handy, co-op supermarket across the road. It was a good location for us for the sightseeing we had planned over the couple of days, and easy parking in the village as it is very small place. We loved the bar in the evenings, having a few drinks with the locals. Dog friendly too, which was an absolute must for us on this trip.
Thank you for a delightful stay at your house, and in Melrose. We loved your breakfasts. It was such a treat having home grown berries. Thank you for your warm and professional hospitality.

We think this is the nicest holiday cottage we've ever stayed in! Warm welcome with a lovely basket of treats; beautiful peaceful location with tawny owls hooting by night; spacious, cosy, and classily furnished. The whole family loved it, including our dog.
Everything was in easy walking distance, very friendly little village, the hotel staff were polite , friendly and was in a great location. The food was nicely prepared and served with a smile

Slap bang in the middle of the village. Very handy for visiting the nearby famous Melrose RFC. Really comfy bed. Great Scottish breakfast with haggis an black pudding.
brilliant location with lovely view. chose it for access to walks. Melrose would be very busy at the height of the season but good choice of pubs(choice of real ales) and cafes for eating out, also local grocer, baker, convenience store and well stocked larger Coop store. good bus service to neighbouring towns and villages
