Guthrie and Horst are world travelers and we engaged in interesting conversations about Scotland's history and many other topics. Such an interesting and gracious couple who treated us like family rather than guests.  Not only did they provide us with a warm, modern and clean room but also the most comfortable bed we have slept in on our month long trip.  The Mended Drum's beautiful gardens enhance the captivating views of the North Sea sunrises. We loved the property, the facilities, the great water pressure in the shower, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The living room furniture was quite comfortable, and I recommend making a fire if weather permits. It makes it very cozy. The location was walkable to food, pub, bus, and two bakeries.
