We were impressed by the calm, clean interior, beautifully furnished with nothing unnecessary. Comfortable sofas, dining chairs, well equipped kitchen, large comfortable bed and great shower. We were made very welcome and helped by the lovely ladies in the street. Very friendly local residents and a super local convenience store. We enjoyed a pizza from local takeaway but missed the fish n chips shop….. check the times. Would recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a getaway from a busy city life, as it’s a fantastic location to enjoy the best of Yorkshire scenery on your doorstep. Thank you also to the hosts for allowing our 2 dogs to stay, they settled very quickly. Great cottage.

Everything! The cottage was warm & comfortable, with excellent heating & hot water & plenty of thoughtful touches - tea, coffee & sugar provided + fresh milk on arrival, battery candles on mantelpiece to add atmosphere, along with the electric log burner (if it doesn't come on check the 2 wall switches to right of fireplace!), kitchen had all the utensils, cleaning products etc you could need, shower gel & soap in bathroom. Excellent shower. A good location in a tiny village on the edge of Cowling with Skipton, Ilkley & Bolton Abbey all about 30 mins drive. The local pub - The Bay Horse - was 15 mins walk away & did good cheap basic pub food. The Dog & Gun - a 10 min drive - did excellent reasonable food, plus takeaway & some frozen meals from their menu which were delicious. Met cottage owner Ady on our last day & he was lovely - keen to know if everything was ok. Will definitely return!
