What a great location, close to everything yet secluded and tucked away in a nice small dead-end alley. The old wooden house with courtyards was lovingly kept intact yet the rooms are fully equipped with all modern and luxurious comforts, and very clean. I booked 2 rooms: a two-bedrooms suite for my sister's family, and a small room for myself, but I got upgraded to a fantastic room with huge space, which is next to my sister's family suite. It was truly a magnificent upgrade for me. And I loved every minutes I spent in it. I got so many room upgrades in my traveling life but nothing is quite like this one. I truly appreciate the host for the experience. My sister's suite was nicely featured with lovely touches. Drinking water was supplied daily. Mufu, market square, riverside lanes, and many good restaurants are all near by. We walked everywhere. Lijiang is a town made for nice strolling. Some streets in Lijiang maybe crowded but if you know how to navigate this intricate and hauntingly beautiful town, a few steps away, you can have a charming alley, or some quiet squares or beautiful corners all by yourself. After a day exploring, it felt nice to get back to our quiet space to rest, we slept really well. The staffs are all very helpful and kind that made our stay more enjoyable. I totally recommended this charming hotel.

A truly exceptional place to stay. I do not normally rate places anything near as highly as this, but this is an absolute treasure. Beautifully styled and crafted, with superbly comfortable beds, great bathroom and delightful underfloor heating. Very friendly and helpful host. Great location. Decent breakfast.

It was right in the middle of old town, but far away from the bars and restaurants so quite quiet, right next to a stream so felt like staying in nature to some extent. Had our own private courtyard though didn’t use much as spent most of the time outside wandering. Owner was super nice and gave us tips about restaurants to try (and to avoid as tourist traps).

Excellent boarding choice in Bai shao. The room is cozy and comfortable with a nice court yard. The hosts are friendly. However, it's regrettable that the host wouldn't serve breakfast any more. Otherwise, having breakfast in the court yard would be a nice experience.

I have the luxury of travelling for leisure at least twice a year, and I have always enjoyed staying in homely accommodations that allow for local interactions to learn more about the culture and the area that I am in. 吾爱堂 is one of these homely accommodations that have far exceeded my expectations in every single way, and whilst I hope that they remain an undiscovered gem - it is important to give credit when its due. 1. Room Room was spacious, beautiful and provided amenities like bedroom slippers, toiletries, towels and Chinese tea apparatuses. It was cold when we went and we didn't know how to work the heating systems - but once we expressed that - every single night our room had the electric blanket, heaters all turned on before we came back from touring to keep us warm and toasty. Even the incense was replenished. Outside the windows you are surrounded by nature - from squirrels to trees to flowers. 2. Staff The staff - they were impeccable in every single way - in helping us with recommendations for everything, arranging transport in and out of the 古镇 to places we wanted to go to. We had arranged for a day hike, and the staff gave us an overwhelming amount of snacks and told us to take care and not over exert ourselves. Breakfast was a lovingly curated elegant Chinese vegetarian smorgasbord of amazing, healthy food. We learnt how to appreciate Chinese tea as we sat down with the owner for tea most mornings - we really slowed down, had time to immerse ourselves in nature and heal. It was so cold in Lijiang when we came, but it was really their warmth, their kindness, their sincerity that warmed our hearts. 3. Space The entire space, once stepped in, feels like a secret world that has been built to be at one with nature. It is artistic, elegant, and soothing. There are occasional gentle smells of incense, sounds of rustling leaves - and the sighting of the inn's cat - it is breathtaking to have been a part of it. 谢谢你们的细心关照，吾爱唐的溫馨氣氛，我们难以忘怀!

This is a small inn right in the historical center of Lijiang, just off one of the main streets. The staff is extremely friendly, where you are welcomed with tea and fresh fruit. They helped me out with everything, really impressive. The room is very comfortable with all amenities you can expect. I’ll come back when I have the opportunity!

We stayed at October Inn for four nights and it was just great! Let's start form the room: very big and comfortable, bathroom also quite big with everything you need. There is a nice terrace where you can enjoy a great view of the mountains and the city. Two beautiful courtyards where to sit and relax. It is located just 10 minutes from Lijiang ancient town, so a nice and short walk. The best part: the hosts are simply great. They came to pick us up at the train station when we arrived and took us back when we left, they helped us to organise some trips around and gave us a lot of suggestions and advice about what to do and how to move around. In the evening we used to spend time with them sitting in the courtyard, drinking tea and talking. One evening they took us for a nice walk on the mountain just at the back of the Hostel. We really enjoyed our stay and, if we have the chance to go back to Lijiang, no doubt we will go back to October Inn.
