Beautiful house, garden and characteristic small private Onsen where you can soak after an exciting Day. The house and garden was so beautiful and staff so caring you could stay all day their and just feel better every minute. Close to all the hakone things. The staff is excellent and does everything to ensure a unforgettable and relaxing stay. Japanese breakfast was excellent, didn't try the western breakfast though it looked good as well. Enjoyed the mixed cheese pizza. The owner is super nice and visited everyday and shuttered us to Gora station which was a 5 minutes drive. He has really useful tips for good spots and there are hikes with stunning views on the valley and Mt Fuji starting from the house he told me about and this too exceeded my expectations.

I think it was my best sleep in any hotel I have ever stayed in. There is also an electric heater under the futon, if you need one. Just like other reviewers mentioned, In the morning we were given a breakfast that was not included in the price. It contained meat, bread, multiple vegetables and fruits. Again, the best breakfast I ever had.

The hosts where some of the nicest people we have ever met met. They made staying at the stay house an experience in itself. we would definitely stay there again if we ever go back to Nikko.

A large bottle of water was provided every night. There are a choice of onsens on site which we took advantage of and were great. The common area was comfortable and we had great conversations with Elizabeth in there. Elizabeth and Satoshi are the highlight of this stay. Please don't hesitate to book your stay here!

The hosts are a very lovely elderly couple who hosted us with great warmth and hospitality. We felt so at home, even though if we communicated via the Google Translator (this is totally viable)! The room is very cozy and has a magnificent view on the Tama River down below. We definitely recommend to take the breakfast option: it is a traditional Japanese breakfast prepared by the hosts, it was very delicious. They have two cute cats, which visit while you eat. We regret staying only for two days!

I love the fireplace in winter; it keeps the space nice and warm. The room is spacious, and the bed is comfortable. There is enough space to put luggage. The bathroom and toilet are segregated by gender, while the washing station is shared. All the basic amenities are available, and you can use the laundry for a small fee. The whole space is very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, and you can see Lake Chuzenji on a clear day. The guesthouse is close to major tourist attractions (by bus), including Kegon Fall, Ryuzu Fall and Yamato Onsen. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I didn't plan the exact spots to go, and he kindly shared some attractions that I could visit for 2 days and suggest some nearby restaurants. He has a lot of knowledge about nature in the Nikko area, and I could converse well with him in English, which was helpful as I can't speak Japanese. He also let me borrow a pair of snow boots as it was snowing the day I arrived, and I didn't have proper footwear for hiking the next day. It was very thoughtful.
