Fabulous place from 1450. So well decorated, warm and inviting. I had a long chat with a most charming woman(58) (did not get her name) in the reception. A former teacher. It is nice when staff takes the time to talk with you about the hotel and other things. It made my stay perfect! Just book this place!

We will certainly go back to Moss Cottage if possible when we return to Stratford-upon-Avon. Bill, the host, was extremely kind and we could check in in the morning when we arrived by train without having to wait for 14 o´clock, He is most helpful. He treated us to a nice pot of tea and a lovely homemade fruitcake which was a good start. You noticed at once that Bill has a real interest in meeting people and that he is knowlegeable in theatre and culture and politics. We arrived the day Boris chose to resign so it was interesting to discuss this. The place is very beautiful and you see that the owner is interested in creating a nice and welcoming atmosphere. Design is probably one of his interest as well as is making an extraordinary nice breakfast with homemade marmalades to chose from when you have eaten everything else. The rooms are comfortable as are the bathrooms. There are no problems with loud traffic outside your window. In our opinion Bill does this out of interest in people and not primarily for making money which makes your stay a most pleasurable experience.
