Excellent location and friendly staff at this old pub/restaurant in Great Ayton, very close to the N.Yorks Moors. We booked on the day of arrival and got a pleasant room. The shower wasn't the greatest, going hot and cold. Otherweise fine although comically we were greeted at 8am by a window cleaner's long pole cleaning our second floor window!
Breakfast was good although it had been cleared away when we arrived at 9am as the 'app' had misinformed the lady in charge that a couple hadn't turned up. But we had a good cooked breakfast and were joined by local friends for coffee who were welcomed.
Convenient parking right in front of the pub and friendly bar staff.

The host was absolutely 💯 amazing. So polite, friendly and very accommodating to our needs.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Room was well-appointed and clean. Tea and coffee available and plenty of milk too.
Evening food was delicious. Good selection of beers. Great location at the foot of Roseberry Topping so ideal for us walking the Cleveland Way. Plenty of car parking. Accommodation block was clean, well-decorated and secure. It was also separate from the main pub/hotel so quiet too.
Lovely cottage in Great Ayton. Renovated kitchen, comfy beds and very quiet. The cottage had everything we needed. Very easy to communicate with the owner. Lots of little cafes/pubs around and a great location to explore the moors and the coast.
Great hosts who were welcoming but left you to your own devices. The shared garden was ample and our boisterous boxer dog loved it. Really good location to access the Yorkshire Moors and nice treats and essentials on arrival. The lounge in particular is a lovely space and it was super quiet - not overlooked by the main house so felt completely seperate and homly.
Beautiful clean and comfortable rooms with gorgeous bathrooms. Private and quiet. Excellent views. Lovely pub with good dinners and beer and friendly staff. Good walks from the doorstep and within a short drive
Great location and very quiet given its within a pub. Staff were SUPER friendly and the breakfast alone is worth the stay! will be staying over and over again
