There’s nothing like waking up to the sound of crashing waves and the sea air floating into your bedroom window. Beachfront accommodations come in a variety of forms, from all-inclusive resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea, and outdoor pools with attached bars.
People stay here for the location. Which was fantastic! We arranged an afternoon/sunset tour of Tikal, which started at noon. Since we had day-passes to the park anyway, we went there in the morning (5 minute walk from the hotel), when it was not crowded at all, and relatively cool and wandered around before returning to the spot where we met our tour for lunch.
The grounds at the hotel were very nice. The restaurant was quite good, and reasonably priced.
Very close to the entrance to Tikal so we were able to enter the ruins at 6 am. Staff were helpful especially the waiter in the restaurant. They organised our transfers and a guide to visit the site at sunset. There were toucans and other birds in the area.
Great staff, great pool, great food (try steak!). Very close to the park. Perfect if you want to do both sunset & sunrise tours (though sunset was better/more reliable weather)
A fabulous location as one can easily walk into the Maya ruins & come back for a cool dip & chill out by the pool, lunch etc. We really enjoyed the sunset tour with Tito who was an excellent guide. You really are in the middle of the jungle & we thoroughly enjoyed listening to the birds & watching the monkeys from our deck. The standard room we booked was adequate and the reception, bar and restaurant area are in an attractive traditional leaf covered building.
This is a tightly run place with clean little rooms, 5-star shared bathrooms and a quiet reverence for the surrounding nature that you often get in a conservation area setting. My kid loved the pool. My dad loved the restaurant. We did the sunset tour offered through the lodge with Fernando. We really enjoyed the pace that he set (chill out and go at his speed and you'll get more out of it) and the insights he offered on Mayan Biopsphere ecology, Tikal history and present-day culture of the indigenous people of Guatemala. Really special.
Perfect location for Tikal. Lovely garden- lots of wildlife including wild pigs , turkeys and agoutis; birds everywhere including toucans. Very nice pool and smiley helpful staff
Perfect location for a sleep in Tikal to go on a tour for sunset or sunrise.
