Ideal for travellers who want their own space and don’t need frills. Aparthotels/serviced apartments have some hotel facilities like a reception desk but are self-catered with a place to cook (e.g. a kitchenette). This suite-style accommodation usually has more than 10 units per property.
Rooms are spacious (much larger than expected) and well appointed. Well equipped kitchen made self catering a dream. There is a little swimming pool on site as well. Free wifi.
A really lovely self catering unit within a short drive of the town centre. The best equipped self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in - the owner has thought of absolutely everything ! the property was spotlessly clean, the wifi worked very well and there was free parking inside the property. Loadshedding is also not a problem here. Very comfortable, good value, what more can I say.
Fabulous location accommodation and facilities. You will not be disappointed staying here. We had an early challenge with the initial allocation of our accommodation - but the staff made a very quick change to our benefit with the minimum of fuss - excellent service. Indeed all of the staff are excellent. The food is excellent whether eating in the restaurants of buying for self catering in the accommodation. Good location for exploring the winelands. Highly recommended.
Perfect location, short walk into town. Cottage is well equipped. Jan's attention to detail is second to none. Welcome bottle of local wine in the fridge. Ice provided on request. Jan pops in for a daily cleaning / Tidy up followed by an evening turn-down and added touches such as new cushions, throws, flowers on the pillow and local home-made chocolates. Full Guesthouse / Hotel service which was unexpected for an apartment. Pool area is amazing...Jan even kindly moved the sun lounger to the best sunny spot for me daily.
A cosy and well equipped self-catering stay on a farm, really close to the centre of town.
Although there's almost no one else around, it feels quite safe.
Exploring the farm and surrounding mountain views is highly recommended.
Look out for the resident owls, most active at dusk.
Fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and frogs, or the whistling of the wind through the trees.
We were self catering. The location is perfect. Walking distance into Franschhoek, but in quiet area. So no noise during the evening.
