I did extend my visit from 2 to 4 days as the Coach House Guest House was amazing and there was so much to do and see in and around Franschhoek
Loved the wine tram - (bought tickets from the Tram kiosk on the main street) took the orange route- don't worry about reading the timetable - its all managed perfectly by all the staff
Bacco is an outstanding new and small winery and worth a visit
Haute Cabriere is also worth a visit too - can purchase the wines and have them delivered to your door for when you get home! Same goes for Ricket Bridge (bought wines and the T - shirt too!)
Take the pass out of F to as the views are spectacular and lots of stopping points for photo ops
Great shops for clothes and souvenirs and lots of cafes and restaurants to suit all budgets

you don´t need to take the winetram when you are there in Off-season. An Uber is much cheaper (even for a single person) and well available within 4-5 Minutes .
Some vinyards are good - like Haute Cabriere, Lieu Passant, rande Provence.
Rickety Bridge was a fail in my opinion (wines no good, location muc less appealing as the others. Black Elephant Vinters did not open the gate when I arrived with an Uber.
The location of Franschhoek is beautiful and I would return again any time.

Beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful surroundings. Hugenote museum and motor museum were interesting. The shops are overpriced and target the foreigners. The art galleries mainly held commercial art.
One day in Franschoek is enough to explore everything.
We travelled to Stellenbosch and Cape Town for day trips. Visited the Taal monument in Paarl.

Great central location for visiting the vineyards but a must is do the four passes drive if you have a car. It's stunning. Stop for breakfast at Terbodore. Super friendly staff and great food. You might stay for lunch!

Avondrood is a small boutique hotel, which is well positioned in a nice, safe neighbourhood in the centre of Franschhoek. We booked this hotel as opposed to one of the larger ones, hoping to receive the personal touch and we were not disappointed as every member of staff really went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable and memorable stay. I even had a cake baked for my 60th birthday, which shows how much they value their customers! I can't see a large corporate hotel doing the same or even considering it.
It’s a big friendly hotel, with plenty of facilities. It’s an a stunning setting overlooking the Franschhoek mountains. I had a beautiful large room over looking the mountains under a tall thatched roof. Service was fantastic and breakfast was plentiful with a great variety of choices. I loved lying by the pool and relaxing. Perfect for a few days of alone time.
Exceptionally good hotel in beautiful surroundings. Could not have been happier of our choice of hotel in Franschhoek. True five star experience with attentive staff, clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Loved the beautiful bathtub. Pool was clean and whole pool area and gardens really well kept and beautiful. Great location in the middle of Franschhoek.
The views are incredible, the state is beautiful, the hotel is trendy and comfortable. Very nice pool. Franschhoek is a short drive away. We really enjoyed the wine. The staff made it extra special. They were welcoming, attentive and went beyond customer service.
Stunning boutique hotel with only 4 rooms, amazing staff, charming, very tasteful interior, big pool with lounge furniture, great breakfast, a quiet oasis just 2 minutes from the center of Franschhoek. Everything was fantastic, we will for sure visit again!
