Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Iruka Hotel is set right in front of the ocean in Shiretoko, a world heritage site. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms were super clean, looked like brand new tatami mats. Staff was friendly, gave us lots of travel tips as we ate dinner in the common room. Loved using the kitchen instead of going to a restaurant.

I chose this hotel due to its location next to the trail head of rausu dake and I am super happy that I did that! The hotel is a cultural experience! Everything was perfect. The onsen was magnificent, the food was so diverse and of local products, and the tatami room was beautiful. They even offered a pepper spray against bears for my hike. To be honest, I can't share the opinion of the others that the hotel is too expensive. Instead I'd say you get more then what you pay!

Route Inn Grantia Shiretoko Shari Ekimae is only a 1-minute walk from JR Shiretoko Shari Station. It features an outdoor hot-spring bath, massage services and modern rooms with free wired internet. Breakfest is OK. With some fruits it would be excellent.
