Hagia Sophia itself is impressive, I certainly wouldn't recommend the so-called "museum," which is ridiculously overpriced and basically just a long, ridiculous video in a bunch of different rooms, played at the volume of a rock concert. Go watch a documentary. You'll learn a lot more.

They turned this museum into a mosque under Erdogan. It has been a museum for almost 100 years, but now it is a mosque and you are not allowed to go and explore the place inside, but are confined to a small space at the ground floor of the building. Very, very sad!!

There are many many well dressed VERY friendly and helpful men willing to show you around, avoid them, do not talk to them! They are all trying to sell you something. They can get aggressive if you engage them and the try to leave, best to avoid them and keep walking.

Definitely gone down since it was turned back into a mosque from its museum status. You can't walk around snd see much of the things you were able to see before. The mosaics and freezes have been covered over again and the balconies are now out of bounds.

We had a nice tour but all of the religious items are covered. It use to be a museum but is now a mosque. However, there is a very beautiful mosque nearby, the blue Mosque, so would have been nice to see the Byzantine church in its glory. There is a great museum of Hagia Sophia that gives you information on the history and it's one of the most high tech museums I have encountered, highly recommend it.

Now that the Hagia Sofia has been designated as a mosque, entrance is free and the queues are horrendous. Try to get there before the crowds, even if it means missing breakfast - or join a reasonable-priced guided tour and skip queuing.

Excellent location in Sultanameht and walking distance to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cisterna. Arasta Bazaar nearby is good for shopping and there are many restaurants and small shops in the area.
The hotel staff is excellent and helpful, making us feel welcome and comfortable. They also arranged transportation for us from the airport and to cruise port. More services available that we didn't use .
The breakfast here is excellent and the hotel is very clean.

The location of this hotel is excellent it’s just walking distance from many of the main sights like Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and Sultanahmet Square.
The rooms are very clean and the Turkish breakfast served is delicious.
The staff are also very friendly and helpful and even gave us a free upgrade upon arrival and we had a nice spacious room.
Had a great stay at White House Hotel. It is in the middle of the bustling old city Sultanahmet area, super close to Cistern, Hagia Sophia, and the tram. No restaurant but that was a plus for me. Many nearby hotels have a front cafe, so WH was more peaceful. Staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our visit.
Great hotel Istanbul, close to all major main attractions (10 minutes walk to Topkapî, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque), the staff is very polite and friendly, tasty breakfast, rooms ale cleaned everyday, nearby are a lot of restaurants, bars and groceries. Less than 10 min walk to Sultanahmet tram, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque. Simple breakfast but sufficient enough before your next meal. Staff is helpful and available 24hrs and the hotel got lift which is important if you have big luggage. Near to restaurants and could hear the music (not that loud and nice actually) but it stops at midnight.
I spent 3 days in Istanbul, and I was lucky that I chose this hotel. First of all, because of the price, the second location of the hotel, not far from Hagia Sophia, the third because of the cleanliness of the hotel, thanks to the guys from the hotel, they are very responsive, always ready to help, in short, there is nothing to complain about.
Our stay at this hotel was outstanding, thanks to its unbeatable location just a 3-minute walk from both Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace entrace. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, and the room combined modern comforts with delightful city views. Ideal for anyone eager to explore Istanbul’s historic heart with ease. Highly recommended!

Everyone seems to go to the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace early but we found after lunch a lot quieter
we gave in and got the 2 day hop on hop off big bus - as we kept getting lost. Everyone seems to go to the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace early but we found after lunch a lot quieter. if I - no when I go again I will definitely get a 3 day pass so no queuing. Must do a Bosphorus cruise
