The apartment is luxurious and it has its own bathroom with a hot shower and an eco toilet. The view is amazing. Isaac offered us a dinner. Also a good breakfast is available that includes fruits. The price included a short tour: Isaac explained to us the history of islands, lent us traditional clothes and did a tour around the lake on a traditional boat. Regarding pick up: Isaac picks you and brings you back from an old dock (it is on the right side of the Muelle tradicional Isla Esteves). From the Puno city center there are buses that cost only 1 sol to get there.

Boasting luggage storage space, this property also has a restaurant and an outdoor fireplace. The homestay has family rooms. Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. José Luis, Pilar and their son were so welcoming and helpful, from organizing transportation to meeting me at the dock. The food was delicious, the space clean and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the lake. They upgraded my room because I had just sprained my ankle before coming, and helped me with natural remedies to heal. Everything was wonderful and I could have stayed much more than 2 nights! The island is beautiful, do the walk around the whole island for gorgeous views and seeing local life in action. Thank you José Luis, Pilar and Luis!

Featuring a bar, Posada de Oliver features accommodation in Llachon. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. The homestay has a public bath, outdoor fireplace and picnic area, and guests can grab a bite to eat in the restaurant. This was a perfect stay. Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The service staff was extremely helpful, polite and joyful. The room was impeccable and comfortable. One stone's throw away from the port and 15 min away from the city center, the location is great.

The simply-furnished rooms at Pukara House include cable TV, a private bathroom and a safety deposit box. Very nice people, nice clean room, good warm bed, hot water, good breakfast, great location close to main square. Neighborhood feels safe. Conclusion: a great stop during our honeymoon!
