Lovely property. An amazing hearty meal for breakfast. Beautiful neighbourhood. The staff was very compliant and friendly. They helped us find parking for our rental car, and accommodated for our late breakfast and even kept our house-keys in the reception for NYE

Location was perfect, very close to the train station, restaurants, and Ephesus. The staff were also extremely welcoming and helpful with recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The property is serene with a bar, pool, and green spaces. Traditional Turkish breakfast was a treat. The rooms are small and the bathroom is very tight, but for the price and compared to other options in the area, it is a great place to stay

The apartment was very quiet, the balcony offered a view to remember fondly, the people in town so friendly and helpful. We ate twice at the favourite restaurant Ali recommended and we did not regret it. We travelled to Ephesus and selected the inclusive ticket which was 52 euros and it was worth every penny. Plan 4 to 5 hours, go as early as possible to avoid the crowds. We were there at 8:30 and the Firmin the parolier! By the time the crowds started we had walked the entire sight and avoided the heat.

We spent 3 days - one day in Selcuk ( there are 3 sites including Ephesus Museum worth one day) and one day doing Ephesus with a private guide( excellent and picked by the hote) and make sure you do the Terraces( many tours don't include it) and finally you can do 3 amazing sites 1-2 hours away - Piriene, Milietus and Didyma ( very few people do this but worth it). The hotel staff can help you

Smaller and less touristy with locals attentive to your need and willingness to help. Ephesus Archeological Park was the highlight of the visit. There is no dearth of choices for eating - from local Turkish dishes to Burger King. Selchuk is more convenient to stay as beginning from morning you can at your leisurely pace cover St John's Basilica, Artemis Temple, Ephesus Archeological Park and Virgin Mary's House all in one day.

we stayed in Sirince.
we stayed in Sirince. An antique village in the mountains outside of Selcuk. A 19th Century experience in small town Turkey. Bring good shoes for steep hills and uneven ground. Good natural foods from local farms. Expect an authentic experience.

I’m not sure why anyone from away would come to Selcuk...
I’m not sure why anyone from away would come to Selcuk unless they were there to see the antique ruins of Ephesus. That is certainly why we came. If you are in Turkey- I suggest it is a must see.
Ephesus is one of the most excavated sites in the world. It is humbling to see how much as a civilized culture we have forgotten- or forgot and have had to rediscover over the millenniums.
That said, Selcuk had decent dining options, and other attractions like the Ephesus Museum (where the artifacts are housed), and the Saint John Basilica which are fantastic. Both are blocks from the Akanthus hotel (which I reviewed separately and highly recommend .

Lovely town, the people were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely town, the people were very friendly and helpful. Easy to go around. Saturday has a fruit/veg, utensils market behind the bus station. Bus station in the centre of the town. Nice restaurants and good food and prices.
The property was centrally located. Staying there you have easy access to restaurants and religious sites. With that said, it is still a quiet neighborhood and we had a great night sleep.
Breakfast was delicious. The variety of food available was the best we encountered on our month long travel through Greece and Turkey.
You could tell that the owner and employees had great attention to detail and dedication to making the experience great for their guests.
We wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend this hotel !!!
It was easy to find the hotel following the signs on the road. They recently built a path climbing to the hotel and it was easy to drive there. The staff is kind and helpful. They have an amazing cook named Ferda. She cooks traditional food but according to your dietary requirements and preferences. Everything we ate was delicious. They have a wide selection of local wines as well. The rooms are old but renovated to serve as a hotel room. All in all it felt so authentic and cosy. Best place to stay in Şirince.
Everything was amazing. Wish we had time to stay more here. Very friendly and courteous owners. They even provided a big water bottle and 2 cups of tea when I asked.
We had laundry and we only stayed one night. So we gave dirty clothes in the morning of our check out. Went exploring. And took the clean dried clothes in the evening. So far the best hotel we stayed in Turkey for the best price.
Good internet. Hot water. Elevator. Parking. Location by the Bazar. Such a delightful stay.
This place is great. Don’t hesitate or consider any other place. Central in Selcuk, near Ephesus and with a great view. The owner is the nicest guy on the planet (and an amazing backgammon player). Breakfast was large, nice and fresh. Comfortable, clean, unbeatable hospitality. Bed is soft. water pressure is very good. lovely terrace for enjoying a tea , watching the sun set, enjoying a book or some yoga. small with personal touches makes this place the best in town.
One of the best stays during our long Turkey trip. The location is beautiful you almost feel like you do not want to leave the premises, the pool is inviting and clean. The apartment is clean and we'll though out, it has everything you might need. The breakfast was enough to feed a football team and as a bonus: my kid and I could not get enough of the friendly dog. Come and see for yourself!
We spent a night in the Mary’s house hotel, during a trip in turkey.
The hotel was really well situated. A little peacefull place, with a warm welcome from our host, Bugra. Everything was perfect and an extra bonus for the local breakfast, with one of the best menemen we ate during our journey.
Thanks for everything and see you maybe with our children 😜
If you come to Selcuk to see Ephesus you must stay at Ayasoluk hotel. The rooms are great value, spacious and with modern fittings. The property itself is beautifully decorated and is situated a short walk into town in a great neighbourhood. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent (including the breakfast) and the staff are helpful and attentive.
This place is extremely well decorated. Inner walls are covered with colorful plates and rugs, and also very nice tiles. Hotel has a very nice little pool between its two main buildings. Garden’s roof is covered vines. Staff is very helpful, arranged a great guide for our Ephesus visit. Don’t think further. This is the place to stay in Selçuk.
We loved staying at ANZ Guest House. Harry and his son were fantastic hosts. The location was perfect, near restaurants, buses to Ephesus and the train station. The room was basic but met all of our expectations. Oh, and of course the included breakfast was awesome! We'll definitely be telling our friends to stay here when they visit Turkey.
Wonderful hotel in a quiet location with a commanding view of Selcuk and the castle. It was pleasant to sit out on the terrace among the plants and the view. Delicious Turkish breakfast. Okyay is a very attentive host, easily engaging us in conversation about the region, offering suggestions and help, all with a good sense of humor.
The location cannot be more convenient - across the road from the bus station and the Saturday bazaar, while still in a peaceful part of town.
The staff at Nicea are amazing. Super friendly and helpful. They were especially lovely to our children.
The breakfast was amazing - the best we've had in Turkey.
The staff were very friendly- they offered us homemade wine and fruit in the evening. Location was really good, walkable to downtown Selcuk and Temple of Artemis ruins. A quick drive to Ephesus ruins. Especially liked the art throughout the hotel and in the room. The towel animals were a nice touch!
Of course it is Turkey because the price is reasonable throughout the country, the price is makes me smile considering it's location, so close to landmarks and especially the bus terminal, less than 5 minutes by walk.
The place is sort of unique, it is located in the place with schools. FYI
Ilker is always there for a chat and great recommendations for stuff in & around Selcuk. He's a very friendly and kind host. The breakfast will blow your mind. The rooms are impeccable & comfy. The pool and peaceful courtyard are the extra touches that make Nazar Hotel a true paradise.
Definitely a highlight in our trip in Turkey. The room and service are beyond our expectations with many pleasant little surprises. We really feel welcomed and enjoy the coziness. Thank you! Highly recommend!
