Very friendly staff! They also stored my bag for free after check out while I was waiting for my train and offered me to try Granita in addition to good breakfast which was included. The room was clean and comfortable.

Unaware that ferry arrival at almost midnight was at a cargo terminal, miles from anywhere, no taxis but helped by kind crew member. Nervous as solo traveller but most accommodating receptionist guided me by phone into stay. Tramline on waterfront easy access to station.
Only stopping point to Palermo - can’t judge attractions.

Messina is a pretty city in a beautiful spot that is off the radar for most travelers.
The cathedral, rebuilt after the 1908 earthquake, is beautiful, with Byzantine mosaics in the apses that miraculously survived. The clock tower mechanical clock is spectacular even though it only operates once a day.
The regional museum is full of treasures that were salvaged from churches destroyed in the earthquake. The highlights are two Caravaggios and an Antonello da Messina triptych.
Interestingly, Messina appears not to promote itself. The tourist office seemed to always be closed. I ended up asking in shops what sights to see, how to get to them on busses, and for restaurant recommendations. Locals were very glad to help me with that information.

we stayed 4 nights, allowing enough time t spend in Messina as well as use it as a base to travel to other Sicily locations. it had great walkability although the sidewalks/curbs were a little challenging with a suitcase. the noon Duomo show was definitely a highlight

The town is Ok for a day & night.
The town is Ok for a day & night. The cathedral at 12pm is the biggest thing in town and it is worth a look for the curious. Note all the bars around the square have a surcharge just to sit down - which they don't advertise. Try the Sri Lankan restaurants around town, delicious food at a great price.

we only stayed 3 nights, the area we stayed was very busy not far from ferry crossings. We visited Taormina and Cefalu, 2 nearby cities. Didn't get to see much of Messina itself. Did visit beach which was very nice.

Messina doesn't have a lot of attractions - the Camponile was interesting to see at midday, as well as the Norman cathedral, for which you could really see the Mudejar influence - something I found surprising for Italy.
OTOH, it also means there were fewer tourists about, which suited us to a tee.
If you are into hiking, it looks like the mountains above the city would have some nice trails with views out over both the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas.
The space is a straight path from Messina station. Takes about 20-25 minutes walking or you can take a bus or tram to Don Oriole stop. It's a great value and you can see other parts of city. There's also a grocery store 5 minutes away. The room also has air conditioning which is highly appreciated.
Paolo is an attentive host. He's interested in ensuring you have a good stay and it's working hard to upgrade his space. I felt very welcomed in his home.
We probably had an upgrade as the room was much bigger than I expected, with a little separate kitchen. The position was great for using the public transport. All the staff there were very friendly and helpful. There is a fantastic bread shop just around the corner which also did pizza and hot dishes at lunchtime, calle 'Non solo pane', I can't recommend it highly enough? If/when we return to Messina, we would happily stay there.
Fantastic location, right on the sea front of the Straits of Messina. Great private garden and two cabin like rooms in a secure area, with access to a private beach. The kitchen area was outdoors in the garden and had wonderful views of the sea whilst having a morning coffee and watching the ships sail by. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Restaurants and shops were a short walk away.
Staff met me at check-in and was helpful and personable. I had a great room with a perfect balcony. The room was HUGE and covered with dramatic murals of the history of Sicily. Bed was large and fairly comfy. Lots of fancy furniture . Good location. Just 2 turns from train station down a long Main Street. Walking distance to shopping and cafes and grocery. Quiet and calm area
perfect location, typical Italian appartment with (sometimes) arguing neighbours and some construction activity next door. real life ! very quiet street outside - exceptional. helpful owner and colleague in case something was needed. note - Messina is not a 5 star territory. if you look for that you must go to Taormina or stay on your cruise ship.
very good value for the price
This is a really nice apartment in Messina located a short walk to the historic centre. The Botanical garden down the street was a real treat. The hosts are very responsive to any concerns, and acted quickly to rectify some missing amenities. In fact, they really went the extra mile to make me happy. Everything in the apartment seem very new.
Modern apartment; decorated in a very good taste; beautiful verandah with views of the sea and Italy.the bathroom was very modern; easy to find free parking in the vicinity of the apartment. Very professionally run;excellent breakfast.(I normally never rate an accommodation as a 10, but this place certainly deserves it)
In Italy the breakfast is not exactly the continental size. Here you have perfect choice of whatever you need. Very good cofee and omelet. Great people and very kind. If visiting Messina this is a perfect choice. Parking nearly for free in front of the hotel. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Love the bathroom!!!
Very good location safe and sound.. appartamento was super new I felt I was at home.. the host he kept checking up on me at least ones a day make sure I was ok and if I needed anything..
Building is very safe ++++ on site parking with a gate.
I would definitely stay next time I will visit Messina..
The location is quite good,we can reach all main sights of Messina by walking. The rooms and very cosy and decorated is a chic style. I really love the interior decoration style of this hotel. From the window of our room,we can see the landmark of Messina La Madonnina del Porto.
Nathalia and Constantino are two of the nicest people I met when traveling through Italy! The place is incredible. Extremely comfortable, quiet, relaxing and good wifi if you need to work. I couldn't ask for more :)
I hope to return in the future. Thanks again!
Beautifully decorated spacious property in great location. Katia waa a great host. Provided plenty of breakfast supplies for our 3 day stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better property in Messina and great value for money for our small family.
Francisco is a fabulous host, very personable, friendly and helpful. There are only two rooms, so it feels like you are staying with family. Great value in an awesome location, close enough to Messina, but out in the country by the sea.
All was magnificent I went to this hotel with my father.
We did a bike trip of all Sicily and we had amazing support from staff.
All the amenities were in perfect shape and all good for a visit to this city.
100% recommended
Breakfast was good, many choices. The rooms were wonderful and the location was a short walk from the ferry terminal. I highly recommend this hotel and will choose it again when we visit.
Great location in beautiful Messina, quiet but also conveniently in the centre.
Wonderful room and the best host you could wish for.
Loved every second of our stay!
A very friendly and helpful staff, easy parking, great breakfast, and good location make this hotel a pleasing choice for Messina! We'd stay here again.
