Incredible stay. The setting of the lodges are truly stunning and the lodge itself matches it's beautiful surroundings. Everything was immaculate and well thought out. The views from the on suite bathroom provide the perfect place for a bath, whilst the outdoor hot tub is an added luxury. I can't wait to return!

Keith and Pauline were great hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The room and ensuite were clean and spacious and they provided some extra touches which were very much appreciated. I liked the way they had themed the rooms, each one being named after an old stamp and decorated accordingly. (They are The Old Post Office after all!) Their home is beautifully decorated with lots of knick-knacks and art work. There were several choices for breakfast which was delicious. They are situated in a beautiful area with good access to the City of Durham and Beamish Museum.

Set in a wooded area this seemingly little hut doesn’t give away its astounding interior. The interior has a WoW factor with cottage style decor, quality appliances and superb design. It even has a large modern shower. Hidden away was a pull down comfy double mattress. It must have great insulation because when it rained it I couldn’t hear it and felt warm and cozy.

Accommodation at the Manor House Inn is superb with very friendly staff, the landlord and landlady make you feel very welcome and have local knowledge of the area. There are plenty of walks to do around the village of Edmundbyers and the Derwent reservoir so you will be super fit by the end - there are other amenities on these walks to cater for everyone.
Car is essential as public transport to and from the Manor House Inn is very limited however, once in Shotley Bridge you can easily get transport to Consett Co Durham where you will be able to get transport by bus to anywhere in the area. Beamish working museum in Stanley Co Durham is a must to see

The hotel was run by polite and friendly staff. The evening meal was well cooked and the dining room well set out. Our room was wonderfully clean and inviting. The view was awe inspiring. We loved the black cows.
