I was pleasantly surprised especially with the tea and coffee making facilities and bottle water in the room.
This charming Grade II Listed building is situated 5 minutes from the M4. It is thought to have been a gift from Queen Elizabeth I to the Earl of Leicester.

The staff were very friendly, booking went well no hitch and the short walk to the room was across the carpark. The room itself was a good size with the 2 single beds we required, Overall the room was clean and tidy, bathroom also clean and well presented. A bottle of still water was in the room which was filtered onsite which was a nice touch and also replaced when needed, The kettle was a small travel kettle but did the job that was required, with a selection of Tea, Coffee and Hot Chocolate with a small pack of local biscuits on each cup a nice touch. My Daughter is Gluten Free and unfortunate the Breakfast Menu only had a couple of options on, but even tho i had informed them a week earlier of this there was no option for the cooked breakfast as they didn't have Gluten Free Sausages available, The Cereal's were not suitable either so leaving only a small option for breakfast for her. Was informed they were let down by supplier.

We didn’t really get much time to explore, Bridgend is like most market towns these days, a little run down, you can see how beautiful it much have been in its day, but there are nice restaurants and shops, what little sight seeing we did was nice and I would like to go back with more time! The great house hotel is about a 5 min drive out of Bridgend, sadly we don’t get time to explore there but it does look like a lovely wee village!

Places around Bridgend are stunning: Ogmore, Southerndown and Porthcawl to name but a few. Shopping at Sarn is excellent. Bridgend Town sadly lacks funding but it’s still an ok town for essentials.
Newbridge fields are beautiful - lots of sports are played there at weekends too.
Not far from Neath falls, there Big Pit, The Mumbles - all worth while places!

Ewenny guest house is not in the town of Bridgend but in Ewenny, surrounded by countryside and woods, on the road to the coast. There are a couple of pubs about 5 minutes drive away for evening meals. It is a five minute drive to Ogmore , which is on the sea and the coastline there is a heritage coastline, with beautiful walks and cliffs and woods.
Bridgend is a small town, it has supermarkets, shops and restaurants, but we did not spend time in the town, only in the countryside around.
