The town is very beautiful and traditional. Most people speak very little English and most restaurants do not have menus in English. I personally love this and it was so nice to stay here for a few days and experience authentic Turkish culture. There is a beautiful river and an old town that comes alive at nighttime. It’s so much less touristy than Goreme and I would recommend for people wanting to avoid the crowds. So many pottery’s around and beautiful handmade items. I would have liked to explore the area more but it was a 40° heatwave so hiking was off the list.

Perfect ambiance gives you a homely feeling away from home and our host Nazlim who owns the property was extremely helpful and always available to help with ideas of exploring the city to arranging cabs with reasonable prices you will not just fall in love with the city but with this place too, away from hectic life and daily hustle to experience the serenity Adonos Konuk is your place. Prob not as busy or touristy as the other options in...
Prob not as busy or touristy as the other options in Kapadocia. but still easy to get to the other towns to see all the historic sites etc. beautiful river flowing thru the middle of town, with all these lovely geese, ducks, water birds. lovely to stroll around - up little pathways, hidden coffee shops, Pottery shops and restos and quick food places - depending on your budget. I cannot wait to get back here. we stayed 3 days, need at least a week.

Avanos is perfectly located for exploring many of Cappadacia's most spectacular sites, and feels like an authentic town instead of tourist trap. We spent 4 nights there and 3 full days exploring by car, and these are some of our favorite places (all reachable within 15-20min drive): 1/Zelve Open Air Museum, 2/ Pasabag Valley, 3/ Love Valley, 4/ Ortahisar Castle, 5/Uchisar Castle...
Boutique hotels, like Haci Asik Konagi, are wonderful places and well worth the money. The new BigShefs restaurant on the river was our favorite place for dinner. Avanos also is the place where you find the Chez Galip pottery store/workshop. Cappadocia is famous for its pottery, but what we saw at Chez Galip is in a class of its own. (Another such store is Yastik’s in Goreme, where we found unique pillow cushions from authentic vintage materials).

Avanos is super close by to all the highlights of Capadoccia, the city at the edge of the mountains is guarded by Turkey's longest river and is an amazing option to stay at while exploring the landscapes and hitching a ride on one of the hot air balloons!

Avanos is just a few kilometers from most of the major trails and places of interest … but it has remained a true Turkish village, and is not overwhelmed with tourists. The local market is really worth seeing.
We are a family of 20 and we stayed at Begam Butik Otel. We have stayed in many hotels before but so far this is one of the best hotels we stayed. The owner Kaan, Mustafa and their family are the best. They went out of their way to help us in many things.
The food was excellent.
The hotel was very clean.
The staff were very kind.
The location is very good.
Got the best available rates for the tours. And the owner personally helped us arrange our dream tour in cappadocia.

Building and rooms very lovely, great location in the middle of Avanos and amazing view (could see the balloons from the breakfast floor). Host was very welcoming, gave us tips on where to go/what to do. Highlight definitely the included breakfast- both of us staying have dietary requirements and the host was very accommodating in making a large & delicious breakfast each morning. Overall, amazing value for money- would highly recommend.
Avanos is a lovely town without all the touristy shops that Goreme has, and we were pleased to have booked the renovated building that houses the HacikAcik Konagi Butik Hotel. The rooms were as seen in the photos on Booking.com, thoughtfully furnished in a rustic manner. It was an easy walking distance to the town and restaurants along the river edge. Breakfast was served in a garden setting and was very tasty.
Great location, the hotel is very beautiful ancient building, very great vibes/atmosphere, clean and very spacious room, the lobby smells very fragrance. Great breakfast, the hotel has variative menus. Parking is very easy, the hotel has private parking lot. But what we like the most was the staff (Mr. Murad), he is very polite, responsive and helpfull. Very recommended a place to stay.
It is a very comfortable boutique hotel, has very clean rooms and lounge zone, friendly personnel. Every morning very delicious turkish breakfast will wait you on the roof of the hotel. I was really surprised by breakfast, it is very reach and tasty. Hotel is situated near center of old Avanos with a lot of restaurants and cafes. it's very warm in the room even in January.
The vibe, area and location was great. It was a nice peaceful hotel with many amenities around like souvenir stores and restaurants. a very safe location with kind and friendly people!

We stayed at the hotel with a family, we really liked the room and the territory of the hotel. Everything is done with the soul, cozy. It's quiet and calm here. The hostess is friendly, speaks good English, everything will tell you what to visit in the area. Delicious homemade Turkish breakfast! I recommend!
This was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. the room was very cozy needless to say, but most of all, the host was very welcoming. She hired a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel for us, and even planned the trip for us. We felt at home in this hotel and enjoyed every second of the trip.
The hotel is beautiful with a lovely garden area in the back. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and have a great view of the balloons from Goreme.
The highlight of our stay were the girls...always laughing and smiling and wanting to please 😊

We traveled by car. The location is perfect, you are in 10-15 min drive distance from most attractions in this area. Hotel has a very good access by car from the main road as well as from the Old Town Avanos. Parking is very good as well.
Lovely hotel - rooms all around a courtyard. Quirky feel with ancient art all around. Lovely seating area outside everyone's room. Breakfast was excellent and the open fire in the breakfast room was a bonus on chilly mornings.
The hotel is in a good location and the room was comfortable. The most positive aspect of the stay was the staff. They were all very supportive, friendly and helpful, and that really made my stay a very positive one.

Avanos was a nice break from Goreme and staying at Sendian was a treat. Sana was a most gracious, helpful, and accommodating host. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was good.
The hotel staff was friendly and the check-in process was quick. Our rooms were so charming and big. We had an enjoyable breakfast and loved the views of Cappadocia.
