If you want to go Lamai beach and shops you will either need a taxi or take the hotel shuttle at 200 Thai Baht per- person each way which I paid, the taxi journey is about 10 mins. I would not advise walking, the journey it's up hill and hot.

I enjoyed the restaurants and I found a massage therapist who was awesome.
I was not impressed with the beach. There was a lot of rubbish in spots. Some days the wind was high and the waves were so rough you could not go in the water.
I like to walk the beach and parts of it the sand was too soft to walk. The sand was also soft when you got in the ocean and make it hard to stand for me. The water was not crystal clear like Koh Tao.
I had just come from Phuket which has incredible beaches and maybe that was why I was disappointed in the beach.

All the staff were amazing, very experienced Massage Therapists in a Room right on the beach.
The Bar and Restaurant was buzzing during the day with a good choice of drinks with a good choice of food, which was really good at a reasonable price.
The Beach is excellent, a beautiful location.
This Resort is in a quiet location within a 2K walk of Lamai for restaurants, Bars gyms etc, although there are restaurants within a 5 minute walk; I recommend 'Spoons' for authentic Thai food.

Lamai is not as crowed and crazy with tourism as Chaweng.
Lamai is not as crowed and crazy with tourism as Chaweng. I highly recommend to rent a car for your visit. I paid about 30 Euro or 36 US $ per day for the car and it made my trip great. Previously, I had a Vespa / Scouter , its dangerous and sweaty ! The best way to get around is by ,rent it at the airport. Easy to get there and easy to pick up , drop off. I did not trust any other car rental places. If you want to see Koh Samui, driving by car opened my eyes about many different locations and you can drive to each side in about 45 minutes... Have fun !

It is fine. Better for pre-teens and families I think than Chaweng.
Still, its mainly hotels/resorts then gaps with bars/massage/laundry etc
But we felt safe and enjoyed some exploring the surrounding area. Some good local restaurants a short taxi ride away

What a lovely beach with nice beachfront restaurants and hotels. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the bamboo restaurant with had tables and chairs on beach. Shopping was limited but adequate for holiday requirements.
We had an excellent stay at this resort. We were welcomed with a drink and a fresh towel. We were surprised to see how nice the resort looked. The pool was very clean and the gym had all the necessary equipment. The room was perfectly clean and also quite large. We took breakfast and dinner at the hotel, as well which was very tasty. The staff was very nice and provided us with the best service. I also took a Thai oil massage, which was so perfect. I even considered booking a second one. In short, the best hotel.
Beautiful small resort hotel. The pool and the beach area are perfect - private only for hotel guests with plenty of sun beds available. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best breakfasts we have had at a hotel - any type of eggs made to order (omelettes, scrambled, fried, poached etc). Also there was a juicer so you could make your own fresh juices! A perfect hotel for a relaxing beach holiday.
I needed a break from the hostel life and I couldn’t have picked a better place in Samui. I had the beach and pool to myself almost every day. The room was lovely. Convenient location. And Jerome went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed, from finding a scooter for me when a lot of shops were sold out (holiday weekend) to helping me book my ferry to arranging my laundry. He’s amazing, and so is this hotel!
All the staff at Bonny Hotel are friendly, welcoming people and make it a pleasure to stay there. The location is excellent with the beach, many restaurants and bars within a short walk. The room was very clean, with a very comfortable bed and a nice balcony to sit outside on. Excellent value for money, a great location in Lamai beach and a friendly place to stay.
Everything was sensational. Exceptional service from catering manager (Aonny and team). Nothing was too hard. Food amazing and hotel has it's own onsite bakery. General Manager (Alex) exceptionally friendly and helpful keeps his eye on every thing too make sure things are running smoothly. Arguably the best resort in Koh Samui.
The resort is very tidy and clean. You can see that the owners take good care of the facilities. I also loved the setup with bungalows in a garden, very relaxing atmosphere and quiet during the night. The location is great, close to the beach. The owners are very friendly and do their best to make you feel comfortable.
We loved our stay at the Rummana Beach Resort. The staff was amazing. Best Cocktails we had in Koh Samui. We stayed in the Rummana Suit, which is very spacious and has a beautiful Seaview.
Lamai Beach was a huge surprise for us, while it is more quiet than Chaweng, we find it more beautiful than
Chaweng beach.

The location is great. I would say the best beach on the island and I've been to Koh Samui over 10 times. You do need a scooter or a car as there is nothing on the road behind the bay. The garden is lovely and green, the restaurant offers nice food. Good pool. Bungalows are roomy.
The views absolutely incredible I can’t describe how stunning and amazing the views are. Without no doubt this is the best view in thailand and probably the best view in the whole world. I highly recommend everyone to stay here and enjoy the beautiful views.
