This is a lovely place to stay. We only stayed for 1 night but we will definitely be back. The room was beautiful and spacious, the bed very comfortable and we also had a balcony. They have a little garden terrace from where you can see the castle while enjoying some delicious food. The staff was very helpful and lovely, made us feel like home. We told them we will leave very early and won't be able to have breakfast and they were so nice to leave some sandwiches for us to grab in the morning. We were impressed. Definitely recommend this location!

Hunedoara city was a very pleasant surprise. The city is very clean and orderly. It can be clearly seen that the city is very well taken care of. Congrats to everyone involved in this process which surely takes a lot of work and determination. Most of the buildings private as well as official were painted nicely. The roads had the tarmac in good condition and new streets seem to be buiilded as well. The turistic sites were also nicely repaired and restored.

We only stayed one night on our way home to Hungary, therefory only visited the Corvin Castle, which is a marvellois building, but the exhibition inside is not that spectacular. Most of the information is in 4 languages (Romanian, English, German and Hungarian), which is a very positive surprise compared to other locations we visited. Two hours were enougj for the whole site.

Depending on your schedule and how much time you want to...
Depending on your schedule and how much time you want to spend in the area, a quick detour into Hunedoara for three to four hours might make more sense than staying there overnight. Having said that, there is a lot of construction going on in the area and we were probably a bit cut off from other things that might have normally been of interest. The Castle is a must see, however. Truly breathtaking. There's also a fun (yes, fun) Torture Museum full of wax figures across from the Castle. This was the last stop on our trip after stays in Bucharest, Brasov, and Sighisoara. It was the only place that I didn't wish we had more time in. I don't regret driving out to see the Castle, but it would have been better to make it a shorter stop before continuing on to Sibiu for the night.

Corvin Castle was absolutely stunning.
Corvin Castle was absolutely stunning. One of the best castles I've ever seen throughout Europe. Hotel Astoria had all the amenities, and more. The best room, a relaxing hot tub, and the breakfast was incredible. This was the BEST hotel during our Romanian trip. I was very pleased overall with the hotel accommodation.

Hunedoara is a wonderful city with many interesting things to experience. Corwin Castle is the most beautiful castle I have ever seen. There is a museum of small cars and trains that is not only interesting for children, but also for adults. Not far from the city, about 50 km, is the Clocota waterfall, which should not be missed.

It's a nice city, but small.
It's a nice city, but small. The Castle is nice to visit but it doesn't take much time to visit it. It is nice but not breathtaking. The hotel and the city itself were pretty empty except for the locals, I guess due to COVID-19. I came from Cluj, but a day trip would have been enough to see the city and the castle.
Consider visiting Deva and Castle too if you are staying in Huneodara for a night or so.
The place is quiet and very close to the Corvins' Castle (about 15 mins on feet). The hotel is new and the personnel is very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and the recipes are well-thought, many suitable options for vegetarians. The room was clean. There was a possibility to park a car in the yard, though there were only two parking lots. Anyway there is no problem parking outside. Beds, mattresses and all the furniture are of a very good quality! We loved the chairs!
Hotel in a quite place in a walking distance to the Corvin Castle. The room was clean with AC working well, that could be helpful in summer. The lady at a hotel was really friendly. I booked my stay at the last time, but she was still very helpful and let me in on remote basis communicating by phone. I parked my car in front of the hotel in a side street. There was 2-3 spots that looked ok, but I think it would be also possible to park the car on the side of the main road.
We (four adults and one child of 4 years old) have spent one night at this location.
We enjoyed the central location of the apartment, the fact that there were markets and restaurants nearby and could be reachable from any point of the city.
The host had sent us in advanced all the details needed for the accommodation plus a travel guide that we appreciated a lot. Thank you!

I really liked the location it's close to the castle the cleanliness of the room is a huge plus, the comfy floor and bed, nice design of the room and bathroom. The tv works just nicely, there is a nice looking fridge also. You have coffee and tea at the lobby and everything looks neatly arranged. We really had a nice rest. We will recommend this place to anyone who wants to ask us about Romania.
The apartment is sparkling clean and smells so good. The grandma who met us is very nice and the owner was very responsive and communicated with us via phone. There's also a private parking provided.
It's about 25 mins walk to the castle. We didn't bring the car as it was an easy walk. Near the apartment are restaurants and a square with a dancing musical fountain at night.
Clean, spacious, well equipped apartment, close to the city center, free parking if you need it. It has pretty much everything you need, including coffee, cold water in the fridge and some sweets for your delight. There's free wifi, the bed and couch are comfy, bathroom is clean and the orange tiles give off a warm feeling. We will book again for our next visit in the area!
We stayed for 3 days and very much liked and apreciated the Cleanliness of the rooms. Beds were comfy as well and we got a good night sleep. Very good service and the staff was helpfull and polite. They went out of their way to help and make our stay as pleasant and enjoyable as posible. The price was friendly as well.We recomend the hotel!
This was a great base for a one night stay in order to see Corvin Castle. Room was big and very clean. Located just just around the corner from castle and just a 3 minute walk. The hotel Restaurant was good and overlooks the castle. Parking was fine and within hotel grounds.
The staff in the hotel and restaurant was really kind and friendly. This is the most beautiful accomodation in Hunedoara I think.
