This is a lovely place to stay. We only stayed for 1 night but we will definitely be back. The room was beautiful and spacious, the bed very comfortable and we also had a balcony. They have a little garden terrace from where you can see the castle while enjoying some delicious food. The staff was very helpful and lovely, made us feel like home. We told them we will leave very early and won't be able to have breakfast and they were so nice to leave some sandwiches for us to grab in the morning. We were impressed. Definitely recommend this location!

We were delighted to see how much care they have for their guests. The big, clean, warm room was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. The location for us was good - quite close to the tourist spots while still avoiding the crowds and bustle of those places - about 10 minutes to the castle (walking with children and dog).
I enjoyed a good coffee and the homemade cones gave an extra taste.

Hunedoara city was a very pleasant surprise. The city is very clean and orderly. It can be clearly seen that the city is very well taken care of. Congrats to everyone involved in this process which surely takes a lot of work and determination. Most of the buildings private as well as official were painted nicely. The roads had the tarmac in good condition and new streets seem to be buiilded as well. The turistic sites were also nicely repaired and restored.

We only stayed one night on our way home to Hungary, therefory only visited the Corvin Castle, which is a marvellois building, but the exhibition inside is not that spectacular. Most of the information is in 4 languages (Romanian, English, German and Hungarian), which is a very positive surprise compared to other locations we visited. Two hours were enougj for the whole site.

Depending on your schedule and how much time you want to...
Depending on your schedule and how much time you want to spend in the area, a quick detour into Hunedoara for three to four hours might make more sense than staying there overnight. Having said that, there is a lot of construction going on in the area and we were probably a bit cut off from other things that might have normally been of interest. The Castle is a must see, however. Truly breathtaking. There's also a fun (yes, fun) Torture Museum full of wax figures across from the Castle. This was the last stop on our trip after stays in Bucharest, Brasov, and Sighisoara. It was the only place that I didn't wish we had more time in. I don't regret driving out to see the Castle, but it would have been better to make it a shorter stop before continuing on to Sibiu for the night.

Corvin Castle was absolutely stunning.
Corvin Castle was absolutely stunning. One of the best castles I've ever seen throughout Europe. Hotel Astoria had all the amenities, and more. The best room, a relaxing hot tub, and the breakfast was incredible. This was the BEST hotel during our Romanian trip. I was very pleased overall with the hotel accommodation.

Hunedoara is a wonderful city with many interesting things to experience. Corwin Castle is the most beautiful castle I have ever seen. There is a museum of small cars and trains that is not only interesting for children, but also for adults. Not far from the city, about 50 km, is the Clocota waterfall, which should not be missed.

It's a nice city, but small.
It's a nice city, but small. The Castle is nice to visit but it doesn't take much time to visit it. It is nice but not breathtaking. The hotel and the city itself were pretty empty except for the locals, I guess due to COVID-19. I came from Cluj, but a day trip would have been enough to see the city and the castle.
Consider visiting Deva and Castle too if you are staying in Huneodara for a night or so.
It is beside the main street, and city center is 2 minutes by walking. There are plenty of free parking spaces around. The famous Covinus Castle is 5 minutes by driving. The bedroom and bathroom are both clean. The host speaks good English. When I arrived, he somehow knows I am here and came out to meet me (probably because I am the only Asian face in the city?) There is no air conditioning, just a fan in the bedroom. But the weather is not hot. So it is okay for me.
The hotel is new and extremely clean! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a hotel with this much attention to cleanliness! The rooms are spacious enough, nicely furnished, fully equipped and the view is spectacular, no matter which room you book. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, they are always eager to help, with a smile on their faces. The spa area is not that big, but very clean and comfortable, the pool had a good temperature and wasn’t very crowded.
We traveled to Hunedoara to visit Corvin's Castle. The hotel is located within a short drive to the castle between Deva and Hunedoara, parking available in the enclosed yard. Although situated on the main road, the sound insulation was very good, traffic noise is minimum. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, comfortable bed, good WiFi connection. Staff were very nice.
The apartment is sparkling clean and smells so good. The grandma who met us is very nice and the owner was very responsive and communicated with us via phone. There's also a private parking provided.
It's about 25 mins walk to the castle. We didn't bring the car as it was an easy walk. Near the apartment are restaurants and a square with a dancing musical fountain at night.
I found a very cozy Apartment in the heart of Hunedoara. Everything was very clean and everything you need is available. The host was very frienly and gave me good restaurant recomandations for the evening. The location is really a highlight. From the balcony you can directly look onto the city center. If you want to visit Corvins castle, it is just a small footwalk away.
Very very nice boutique hotel, more than I expectted go find in a small town like Hunedoara
Very very pleasant and helpful staff: I had a few additional requests and they worked to meet each of them. Very very nice facilities and amenities: big comfy room, hot tub, smart tv with Netflix, even a small outdoor heated pool.
We had to change our plans and we booked very late, to get to the hotel about 10.30pm. The hotel had only cited until 10 for check in but responded very fast to our request and confirmed that they would wait to check us in. They got everything ready quickly and put a cot in place for my baby too. Thank you for that.
The place was overall spotless, there is an AC in case you get here on a hot day and extremely comfortable bed and sofa, the view is set on the fountain and the big landmark of Hunedoara Casa de Cultura, strongly recommend !!
