The room was nice and big as we booked three bedroom for 2 people. It have massage chair and bathroom is big for this room type. The toilet is separate from bathroom which I really appreciate.

We liked the room it was quite spacious. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was an easy bus ride from the main station and there were many restaurants nearby. The breakfast offered a lot options both Japanese and Western. The staff were very helpful finding some bus information and lending us umbrellas and adaptors.

Visited Nasu animal park, Waterfall and Nikko Toshogu shrine in Nikko by car with my family and these were outstanding,
In Utsunomiya there were plenty of good places near my hotel to eat with my family including grandchildren

I highly recommend trying some unusual gyoza.
I highly recommend trying some unusual gyoza. Also get out to Ohya! The museum, the cafes, Tagefudousan... It is better to have a car to get to the beautiful spots on the outskirts of town like onsens.

Very easy to get around downtown (west side of station).
Very easy to get around downtown (west side of station). Almost every bus goes up and down the main street. It is a good base to make trips to Ashikaga Flower Park, Nasu, Nikko, Ohya and less than an hour by fast train to Tokyo. I like the view of the mountains from Utsunomiya. On a clear day, the top floor of the Prefecture Building (kencho) has a great view.

I went to meet friends, not for sightseeing. It is famous for gyoza (Chinese dumplings), which are delicious, but if you are in Japan/the Tochigi area you could easily give Utsunomiya a miss! Nothing wrong with it at all, it's just a normal small town!

It's a calm city but if you are looking for world of heritage location i recommend Nikko there is a great location you must go to look, such as Toshogu World Heritage Kegon Waterfall, etc. and also Ashikaga Flower Park at Ashikaga.
This box always says "how was the breakfast"? Well it was excellent. Not a buffet but a choice of one of three options in the Italian restaurant in the lobby. I should have a picture posted of the roast beef breakfast I selected. I did not expect that from this kind of hotel.
The facilities were brand new and clean and a couple of blocks from the station. The future light rail runs right next to the hotel as well.
I have stayed in many different hotels in the Utsunomiya station area the last several years, but this one was by far the best! Location is excellent, right outside the station, the facilities were extremely clean, the staff were so friendly right from the moment I walked in the door. Room was bigger than most of the standard rooms here in Japan. Excellent all around!
This guesthouse is with no doubt the best one where I stayed during my trip in Japan ! It’s a traditional Japanese house. The dormitory is very clean and beds are so comfortable!
The owner, Kageyama-san is the kindest person I’ve met! I felt like a friend. We spent an all evening around a drink !

We been staying at this hotel for more than 5x. What we loved about this hotel is the place is very convenient to others. If the weather is good you can see the Mt.Fuji from this Hotel. It was a good timing for us.
Very nice and clean hotel near Utsunomiya Station. Ideal for a short trip to Nikko. Check-in was very easy since it was done via a "Self-Check-in machine". If anything didnt work out, the staff was very nice and helpful.
The Hotel is best for Business Trips, as we work out most of the day. And at the end of the day. Rest and Recharge to another day. The Rooms are comfortable, and it is very near to the Utsunomiya JR Station.
Location, it was near the station. There was also a fast food shop next to the hotel. I had a good night's rest. Although the property is not that new anymore, the room didn't smell :)
The hotel is conveniently located next to the JR railway station of Utsunomiya. The room was of a decent quality. Perhaps a little outdated but everything functioned well.
Very close to the JR train station and shopping centers. Good place if you want to visit both Utsonomyia and Nikko. You can go through the hotel directly into a kombini.
Friendly staff, clean room, free water bottle in the fridge for every guest, big room for Japanese standard, quiet and silent room, free toothbrush and slippers.
