As I went there to surf, I liked that it was close to the beach. The food in the restaurant was amazing, especially the Chicken nanban! I will definitely come back again

Gorgeous coast and mountains and the city itself is a decent size. I spent time camping by the beach at Sumie which is perfect for swimming and paddle boarding. It's in a bay so the waves aren't too strong. The beach is lovely and sandy.
Spent a second day hiking Mt Mukabaki which has incredible views and a stunning waterfall too. The path is steep and I wouldn't recommend for total beginners but it is easy enough, just long. Take plenty of water with you.
