Attilio met us at the door to welcome us and explain everything, he was really nice and helpful. The location was truly amazing. Convenient two minute walk from the train station so you don't have to carry luggage up/down into the other parts of town. The main attractions are only a 10 minute walk away. The place looks to be freshly renovated and they thought about all the little details for a comfortable stay. The best accommodation we stayed in during our trip around Italy. The sofa bed is well.. a sofa bed so not the most comfortable sleep, but it does accommodate an extra person or two. There is a separate bedroom with a double bed which was very comfortable. It also has an outdoor area, which is lovely. We truly loved staying there and wish we had longer. Thank you for everything

The location was planning perfect. Varenna is beautiful lake town with excellent views and a perfect jumping off point for the lake. Hermes was an amazing host and wonderful person. We loved our stay and will definitely come again.

We loved the location and property, but especially loved the extra touches that made us feel so welcome, including chilled Prosecco waiting for us, and provisions and snacks for breakfast and lunch. We can't say enough nice things about this location - roomy with 2 bathrooms, and just a short walk to the ferry, train station and central Varenna while being just outside the busy areas.

Perfect location for using the train. It was a little walk to the water and restaurants, but no more than 10 minutes and well worth it. La Veranda, the restaurant above the villa, was excellent. The villa was beautiful. There was a nice outside area with tables, chairs, etc. but unfortunately, we were unable to use them due to weather and time. Our host was wonderful. We left our bags early morning and when we returned, they were in our rooms. One thing we missed is the breakfast which I heard was great, but we had too early of a train. Breakfast is made to order, so could not pre-order. Would absolutely stay again.

Varenna is beautiful and we enjoyed it, but no taxis...
Varenna is beautiful and we enjoyed it, but no taxis available you have to stay right in town otherwise have to walk steep hills back to your villa. Restaurants require reservations. Highly recommend Villa Monesterio for walking and outdoor cafe. Everything was very crowded on Saturday and the ferry from Villa Carlotta was over loaded with people if there had been any accident most people could not get out it was too over crowded.

Ideal location for visiting other towns on the lake, Bellagio, Menaggio & Tremenzenno all a short distance away.
Ferries are frequent & very punctual.
One hour train ride into Milan, not that frequent so check the times.

Don't miss Villa Monastero! Lovely gardens walking along the lakeside and tours inside were only offered on weekends. Check hours before going.
A few restaurants within walking distance of the ferry. Bar Moto has spectacular views from the water.

The views from Varenna are better than the more southerly locations. There are lovely walks and it’s easy to get to nearby towns. There are many eating places but not much opportunity to shop if self catering.

We knew we were going off season (the hotel has only opened...
We knew we were going off season (the hotel has only opened the week we visited in the 2nd week of March) Varenna is a pretty village with breathtakingly beautiful views. But off season there was nowhere open to get a drink or food after 9pm!
We stayed at the annex hotel (not the main hotel) and I highly recommend this little gem! The room was modern, very clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed and bathroom facilities were very good. It overlooked the Varenna ferry and was super close to everything- a wonderful view with a short walk along the shoreline to more eateries and shops in Varenna. The breakfast at the hotel were among the best we had during our Italy visit and the staff was exceptionally sweet to us. We will for sure be back!
We had a lovely stay at El Lavandee and really enjoyed the comfort of a larger space for our family of 5, the air con, washing machine and, especially the little private beach (through the tunnel under the road). The apartment was well equipped, clean and well styled.
It was 2km out of Varenna but there was a great multi story car park on the edge of Varenna which served us well.
Daniela and Marco were really helpful and we loved the boat hire they suggested - 3hours on Lake Como was a highlight!
The location of the hotel is perfect, with a wonderful view over Lake Como. A short walk from the train station at Varenna, less than 10 minutes, as well as being only a 5 minute walk from the ferry. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a few hundred yards of the hotel. Very helpful and friendly team looking after us.
The breakfast set up was fantastic, tables overlooking the lake, then, food wise, everything you might want, hot or cold, absolutely loads of healthy options, delicious!
Varenna was our favorite town in Lake Como and Varenna Guest House was the perfect location to explore the lake from. It is a 5 minute walk to the train station, 2 minute walk to the ferries and a 10 minute walk to all of the restaurants on the promenade. it had all the basics a traveler needs and we were very comfortable throughout our stay. We also appreciated our host Enrico who went out of his way to mail our watch which we forgot at the apartment at checkout.
I stayed in a single room (10m2) it had everything you could need. Relatively comfy bed, free wifi, clean amenities and good location. The hotel is located in the heart of Varenna and is only a short walk from the train station. The breakfast in the hotel was pretty good and consisted of fresh croissants, bread with various spreads, orange juice, coffee and fried eggs. I also had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and the food was delicious and well priced.
The hotel and staff are fantastic. Partial Lake view balcony is nice and the view from the restaurant terrace is beautiful and the food good. If I go to Varenna again I will stay here. The office staff is extremely helpful and friendly...they heard rumor of a train strike the morning of our departure and not only advised us but helped create a travel plan to get us to Milan and on to Venice that solved or problem perfectly.
I can't thank them enough.
B&B Villa Varenna is a particularly charming hotel run by the very welcoming, friendly and kind Mauro. Our room was clean and comfortable with a wonderful lake view. A generous and enjoyable breakfast is provided on the lovely terrace each morning. The location is excellent with easy access to restaurants, cafes, excellent walks, trains and ferries. Our 4 night stay was a highlight of our holiday.
Location is unbelievable like something out of a movie. Beautiful views of Lake Como from the house and 3 separate outside deck/viewing areas. This place is a villa with tall ceilings and in some cases marble floors. Very spacious. Nice large kitchen with glasses and pots/pans etc. The patio just outside the kitchen has a running stream that was awesome and very calming.
The views of Lake Como were amazing! It was so beautiful and made it worth the stay at this place. The room was nice and spacious with a full kitchen and bathroom. It was about a 10 min walk to the city of Varenna and a little less to the ferry. We were able to spend a lot of time in Varenna while also exploring Bellagio and Menaggio. There are many trails to do this. Especially liked the one past the cemetery.
The shower feels so good after a long day of hiking.

The location is superb just next to the pier. Few minites walking we can reach the villa monastero.
Varenna is just perfect. Its like we are walking in disneyland. We would definitely recommend to stay at hotel olivedo!
Breakfast is also the best, the scrambled eggs & bacon are excellence and god-like taste.
The location of the hotel is ideally situated within a short walk from the Varenna train station and the ferry points to visit other locations on Lake Como and further afield. The room was as pictured ideal for a single person and the brekfast which was included with the booking was also good.
The hotel manager Barbara was the best, wonderfully gracious, so helpful, and made us feel at home.
She made lunch reservation at the restaurant just steps away at the lake where we had delish late lunch, wine,& 360degree view of Lake Como, a delight!
