LOVED this gorgeous property on the hill! It’s a peaceful sanctuary away from the crowded streets in Varenna below. Stunning!! Only noise was really the chickens.

The location was planning perfect. Varenna is beautiful lake town with excellent views and a perfect jumping off point for the lake. Hermes was an amazing host and wonderful person. We loved our stay and will definitely come again.

Perfect location for using the train. It was a little walk to the water and restaurants, but no more than 10 minutes and well worth it. La Veranda, the restaurant above the villa, was excellent. The villa was beautiful. There was a nice outside area with tables, chairs, etc. but unfortunately, we were unable to use them due to weather and time. Our host was wonderful. We left our bags early morning and when we returned, they were in our rooms. One thing we missed is the breakfast which I heard was great, but we had too early of a train. Breakfast is made to order, so could not pre-order. Would absolutely stay again.

Varenna is beautiful and we enjoyed it, but no taxis...
Varenna is beautiful and we enjoyed it, but no taxis available you have to stay right in town otherwise have to walk steep hills back to your villa. Restaurants require reservations. Highly recommend Villa Monesterio for walking and outdoor cafe. Everything was very crowded on Saturday and the ferry from Villa Carlotta was over loaded with people if there had been any accident most people could not get out it was too over crowded.

Ideal location for visiting other towns on the lake, Bellagio, Menaggio & Tremenzenno all a short distance away.
Ferries are frequent & very punctual.
One hour train ride into Milan, not that frequent so check the times.

Don't miss Villa Monastero! Lovely gardens walking along the lakeside and tours inside were only offered on weekends. Check hours before going.
A few restaurants within walking distance of the ferry. Bar Moto has spectacular views from the water.

The views from Varenna are better than the more southerly locations. There are lovely walks and it’s easy to get to nearby towns. There are many eating places but not much opportunity to shop if self catering.

We knew we were going off season (the hotel has only opened...
We knew we were going off season (the hotel has only opened the week we visited in the 2nd week of March) Varenna is a pretty village with breathtakingly beautiful views. But off season there was nowhere open to get a drink or food after 9pm!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Camilla House. The house was in a great location, close to Varenna, where other towns on the lake (Bellagio, Menaggio...) can easily be reached by ferry . Marilena was an amazing host. She picked us up at the train station and showed us what to see in Varenna. She was also very available throughout the stay. The house is very clean and has everything you need to cook. We would highly recommend the Camilla House for a memorable stay with stunning views on lake Como.
This was a wonderful place to stay for our three nights in Varenna! Our lovely hosts, Maria and Pietro, met us at the station and gave us a ride to the apartment, which was furnished with binders of suggestions for our time on Lake Como. The apartment was beautiful, comfortable, and centrally located (do be aware that there is no other staff or mid-stay cleaning/towel swap). No AC, but it was very cool at night and there was a powerful fan.
The Casa Mary window views looking north and south along Lake Como were fantastic. The location a block from the ferry dock in Varenna was so convenient. You could hop on a ferry and have lunch in Menaggio or Bellagio then return to Varenna before dark. The apartment was very cozy and clean. We were able to cook pasta and play Cascadia while drinking wine and enjoying the endless views.

Breakfast on the terrace with the most amazing and calm view over the lake - unforgettable. It’s a classic ans typical Italian hotel, rooms are small but the overall atmosphere is very romantic. Perfect for couples.
We fall in love with this cute house near to Lake Como. It's a charming place with green door, huge bed and large terrace, where you can eat your breakfast with beautiful view. Also, we recommend the whole Varenna city, which is one of the prettiest towns on the lake. Contact with the host was very good, it turned out to be helpful. Grazie!
Elisa is extremely kind to relocate us to another of her room right at the centre of Varenna as there was vacancy and the view of lake como from the balcony and rooftop was stunning! It was a perfect stay with free toiletries, hairdryer etc. and great breakfast! (honestly rare to see free breakfast provided so definitely a plus point)
The room with the terrace has unbeatable view. Varenna is a great place to stay -beautiful, charming, walkable, super well connected (train /ferries). The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has view over the lake. The rooms are old style but clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was recently renovated.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty. The location was ideal for exploring Varenna, and easy access to the ferries for seeing the rest of Lake Como.
Charming boutique hotel on the lovely Piazza San Giorgio. Perfect way to avoid the big crowds along the water, but only a five minute walk to everything. Lovely restaurant on site and great gelato right across the street. 300 m or so from the train station. Very friendly staff and the rooms were immaculate. Great find!
The location is superb just next to the pier. Few minites walking we can reach the villa monastero.
Varenna is just perfect. Its like we are walking in disneyland. We would definitely recommend to stay at hotel olivedo!

The hotel is really beautiful and pleasing to look at. The view from the balcony and from the restaurant is breathtaking. Honestly, the photos online doesn’t do it justice. The hotel is very well centred in Varenna and everything is within minutes walking distance. Staff were professional and accommodating.
Just a brilliant hotel, great views, breakfast was fantastic, and the view was incredible. Rooms were great too! For a special occasion in the Italian alps this has to be right up there, Varenna is also a beautiful spot and really handy to the train station,
