Fiumicino is best known for its access to the Eternal City through Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport. Despite this recent claim to fame, Fiumicino includes several archaeological sites around the ancient harbors of Ostia and Portus. It's also an important fishing center and summer resort, especially along the beaches and coves of Isola Sacra.
Hosting the busiest airport in Italy and the sixth busiest in Europe, the town has grown in a series of services that fit with these suburban functions. Examples are the Fiera di Roma conference center, or the Parco Leonardo recreation center.
The town of Fiumicino is 20 miles from central Rome, while Da Vinci Airport is 19 miles away from the Italian capital. The remains of Ostia Antica are less than 6 miles away.
Like many airports in the world, you can find hotels in Fiumicino Airport directly on its premises, providing effortless access to your flights.
Since most Fiumicino hotels are in the Isola Sacra area, you might get the chance to enjoy the Tyrrhenian beaches and the tasty Italian seafood.

The Fiumichino airport is 10 minutes away by car. Fine place for staying before or after flight. The molo is a nice place for a walk.

It was the day before our trip back to the states coming from Greece. I booked accommodations there because of it being so close to the airport. Less than 10 minutes. Fiumicino is a wonderful area to visit.

We stayed one night at Il Piccolo before our flight home.
We stayed one night at Il Piccolo before our flight home. The accommodation was really close to the airport and Costantino helped me organise a shuttle to the airport.
The place was lovely and clean and the communication was very good. Breakfast was supplied and it was amazing.
As we had a late flight we were able to leave our luggage at the place while we explored Fiumicino.
Would highly recommend Il Piccolo.

Fiumicino is a charming and real town without the trappings of tourism. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops that seem to cater to more locals than tourists. It was fun to wander about and soak up the atmosphere of this real fishing town.

The location close to the airport was good for us and the time that we had available.
The port was a short walk away and had good restaurants and a nice vibe.
The breakfast was OK, simple and adequate for us. It would have been improved if we had access to more than just a kettle and coffee machine as we got a takeaway pizza and had no plates. Would suggest that other travellers eat at the pizza shop itself.

We often choose to stay in Fiumicino as a staging area either upon arrival or departure from Roma (FCO airport). It has a sort of edgy border town vibe to it that makes it feel more authentic. It has a nice promenade along the mouth of the river with many cafes, bars, & restaurants; you can fall into a bad tourist place or find a nice authentic trattoria, and also some very posh establishments; most featuring local fish.
It is close to the airport so it's convenient and the prices for a room are lower than going into Rome proper.
A small family run hotel in Fiumicino very near the airport. Nothing fancy but very nice for a stay before or after arrival at the airport. The family that runs the hotel are wonderful, very friendly and competent. We were in a spacious room on the top floor with a large terrace. The shuttle service to and from the airport (for an extra fee) is convenient. We really like being in the small town and being able to walk to restaurants. Some very good fish restaurants nearby.
Ketty was a wonderful host, who offered fast & reliable airport pick-up and return. Breakfast had a large variety of fresh items. Refrigerator was available for guests' use. B&B has 4 rooms: 2 upstairs & 2 downstairs. We had Chambre 4, upstairs. The bedroom & en-suite bathroom were clean & spacious. On a previous trip, we stayed at one of the Rome airport hotels the night before a flight and the B&B was a much better experience for many reasons!
We needed a nice spot close to the airport, but didn't want to spend a lot of money on the hotels close by. We fount this great little B&B and the host could not have been nicer. She drove us into the town of Fiumicino and explained things as we went. She also made arrangements to have us picked up on the morning of out flight. The only thing left to do was to enjoy the amazing breakfast that she prepared for us. Thank you!! :-)
We needed a place to stay close to the airport and the major hotels closer were booked. it was approximately 15-20 min away and cost €25/30 for a taxi and €30 for an Uber. The rooms were pristine, quite comfortable, and very reasonably priced. The beach was close by and we happened upon a lively street festival on Friday evening. Mary was incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions and setting up taxi service to the airport.
Having a flight out early in the morning, I wanted to be close to the airport; and yet, rather than stay in a generic chain hotel, I much preferred this little spot in the town of Fiumicino, just to have one more taste of Italy before flying back to the States. Giovanna makes you feel comfortable, and the room has everything you need, including a comfortable bed. Also, there are quite a few dining options on the waterfront.
Very convenient to the airport for an overnight before an early morning flight, and much easier than staying in Rome and then having to make the dawn run out the the airport. Wonderfully attentive and helpful staff. Fun to walk about town, many nice restaurants— much better than sterile airport hotels closer to FCO. Nice breakfast included, starting at 6:30am, in time to catch shuttle to airport.
The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. We stayed in the hotel because we needed to catch a flight in Fiumicino Airport the next day. The room was very clean. Something that doesn't happen enough at hotels is putting enough towels for the amount of guests present. This was not the case, I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent location near the airport and the facilities are great.
It was optimal for a short night stay for the connecting flight next morning. We arrived late and the host was very kind to check us in at late hour for no extra charge (9-10 in the evening). It was also fairly easy to get to the B&B from Fiumicino airport with a public bus + 10 mins walk.
Hotel had good value comparing to the prices in the neighbourhood and the city of Rome.
The hotel is conveniently located not far (15 mins drive) from the Fiumicino airport. It is very nice, modern and spacious. The staff was friendly and they also prepared a breakfast box for us, given that we would have missed the breakfast. Lovely!
Everything was clean, the mattresses firm enough and comfortable, and the rooms very quite. There's also a restaurant and a bar.
Everything Is perfect here, especially if you are travelling. One Railway stop from Fiumicino Airport and well connected with Roma Tiburtina in Town. The quarter Is quiet, the apartment has a lot of light as It Is on the seventh floor, It has a beautiful terrace and It Is full of nice details. Good breakfast. Very good assistance during your stay, good restaurant nearby.
I had all the necessary facilities in the room: TV, a small fridge, shower gel/shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer.
The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was good.
The hotel is very close to the Rome Fiumicino Airport which was one criteria when choosing it.
They also offer airport shuttle with extra charge.
The staff was helpful and kind.
Not a typical airport hotel It's small and family owned. Price is right. Shuttle picked us up (we had to call). Nice location - you can walk to restaurants. That's unusual for airport hotels. Super friendly hosts. Room is basic - a bed and bathroom. But we didn't need anything more than that. And they had breakfast!
Best airport hotel I have stayed in near Fiumicino. Friendly, helpful staff, reasonable accommodation charges, large room with comfortable bed and large shower. Lovely green outdoor area with pool and tennis court. Perfect to relax with a cool drink from the bar after a long flight.
The room was excellent. It was a bit pricey but probably not out of the range for a close to the Fiumicino Rome airport hotel. The attached restaurant was great and reasonably priced, especially their breakfast buffet which cost only 10 euros per person.
It's a very nice hotel, clean, with a very helpful staff. Breakfast was very good, cakes were tasty and coffee as well!! Very close to the Fiumicino airport. Bus shuttle is only 6 euros and it goes until 22.30. In 7-8 minutes you are in the hotel!
A welcome surprise was the fact that there is a little shop where you can buy a snack or salad after midnight. Having chosen the hotel because of the late arrival at Fiumicino Airport, being able to eat something decent after arrival was good.
We stayed at this Hilton the night before returning to the US from Fiumicino airport after 6 weeks in Italy. We were grateful for a "US" style hotel, to rest and be near to our flight checkin. tried to stay at HelloSky, but it was booked.
Very convenient location, especially for one night after the arrival at Fiumicino airport. For departure the same hotel opposite the railway is recommended. Breakfast is also good.
Location - one stop from Fiumicino airport by railroad or by the hotel shuttle. Value for money, shops and food delivery is available for night stays, kind and responsive staff.
