The lakeview was awesome! Housekeeping service on each day of stay was nice. Double room was spacious. Very polite customer service (but they speak very little English). Right next is a restaurant which is one of the few open until late night.
La Locanda Del Pontefice - Luxury Country House overlooks Castel Gandolfo's lake and the Roman countryside. Just 5 mi from Ciampino Airport, it offers accommodations with LCD TVs and internet access.
Enjoying a peaceful location just a 5 minute drive from central Castelgandolfo and with a private beach on the lake, Hotel La Culla Del Lago is ideal for a relaxing stay.

The view and location of the hotel was absolutely excellent. We were tucked up away and felt very much in our own little world. The restaurant was of one the more imaginitive and delicious meals we had on our trip. Would very much like to stay here again if we are ever back in Castel Gandolfo.
Hotel Castel Vecchio has a stunning position directly above Lake Albano, just a 5-minute walk from the historical center of Castel Gandolfo, and 984 feet from Villa Barberini.

The view was spectacular. However, our room had sloping ceilings and my tall husband kept bumping his head. We booked rather last minute so this may have been all that was available.

Location is great, on the main road of Castel Gandolfo. I only stayed one night, but the place is equipped with everything you need for a longer stay.

Nice place to stay out of Rome, but not too far (about 40 min by car to the centre). Close to nature, Albano lake is within the half an hour walk down the hill. There is access to the beach with a restaurant and a bar (and a parking lot) where you can rent a chair. Parking can be little tricky in this town with narrow streets. Some wide cars might not fit the most narrow streets which are also one-way.
Ciampino airport is 25 min away by car. Also reachable by train

Castel Gandolfo is a beautiful town.
Castel Gandolfo is a beautiful town. The Pope's palace isn't much to see inside but it has miles of gorgeous gardens and views. The pine trees are some of the healthiest I have seen in Italy. The food is amazing. We frequented La Papessa and Pagnanelli - we'd go back just to eat some more.

A lovely, classic Italian Hotel in an ideal location with fabulous views and lovely interiors. The main terrace has wonderful views over lake Albano and is a lovely place to relax. The Hotel has two small pools, one in the same space as the breakfast area! and the other on the roof terrace.

It's a very small place and the area is very hilly. Not recommended if you want to spend a lot of time wandering around the area. However, we found it very clean and peaceful.
Restaurants are very good and a wide choice of food is available considering it is so small.

It is a small town but we’ve done all the biggies and wanted a smaller town. Lots of restaurants for a small town but that’s probably because of the day trippers from Rome. Also Romans go there on weekends to escape the crowds of the city, especially this year because there are so many more tourists according to the locals and the food is really good. Some restaurants you might want to consider, Sor Capanna, great pizza, and pasta with boar sauce. Cumin Arte, they offer other things but this is definitely seafood oriented, great mussels and seafood options. Hosteria Fraschetta, we ate there a couple of times, the food is that good, a little bright inside but everyone was enjoying themselves one cool, rainy night. All of the above also have outdoor seating.

Bianconido is just lovely - well appointed and in a beautiful place. The view from the balcony is stunning. Lago Albano is picturesque and it is fun to watch surfers and scullers race on it's sparkling water. We spent a lot of time reading our books out there, taking in the sun. Claudio, our host, was very kind and helpful. The bed was comfortable. There are nice little touches everywhere - lavender sachets on the hangers in the closet, fun art on the walls.
Castel Gandolfo has amazing restaurants.
The location is absolutely stunning and the locals were so friendly and helpful in helping us get from the train station to the hotel.
The staff at the hotel were all friendly and welcoming and we got some great restaurant suggestions in the nearby town centre.
The room was clean and well kept. We missed breakfast as we had an early train to catch but we’re already looking at booking for next year for a longer time as one night wasn’t enough!
We went to Castel Gandolfo for a few days. This apartment was our base for trips to other places. We were in Rome, by the sea and in Subiaco. We liked the apartment very much, well located, well equipped. There are many restaurants and places to visit or relax around. We arrived late at night but the hosts gave us instructions on how to find the key and get in. They were happy to answer our questions. We recommend it to others.
There is an amazing terrace, the view is breathtaking. The house is spacious and has everything you need. In Castel Gandolfo there is always a nice cool breeze even when the places around (Rome especially) are boiling hot. The house is right in the centre of Castel Gandolfo, plenty of nice restaurants on your doorstep. We loved everything about this house and we will come back.
Rome is fantastic city, I visited many times, but Castel Gandolfo is really excellent place to stay. Real Italy. Apartment is full equipped and very comfortable. We traveled with 3 old kid, it was great, heating, all equipment, even Ikea glasses for children. Location, stunning. I like the center, delicious food from the restaurants and of course Italian moving.
The place was very organized, clean and with all the facilities. Well located in a beautiful and quiet area close to an amazing lake that you can have a nice view on the way to the train station that is about 8 minutes walking. You can go straight to Rome center with this train line. The place is also close to the airport ciampino.
Our rooms enjoyed spectacular views of the lake and surrounds and it was only a short step into the town to fabulous restaurants. Visiting the Pope's summer home and gardens was a real treat. A short taxi trip to Rome to view the sights and restaurants and the view of the lake in the evening lights is even more enchanting.

This apartment was everything they said it would be! So lovely and comfortable. A place to take a breather and recharge. The walk to the town was easy as long as you take it slow. The small town is charming with some great places to eat. Easy to get to by train from Rome.
Cosy little apartment in the heart of Castel Gandolfo with a magnificent balcony view of the lake. The apartment is small but fully functional with all the amentities needed for a few days in the area. There is also parking a few hundred meters away from the place
We had a gorgeous view from the room to the lake. Room has all what you need, renovated and clean bathroom. Hotel is few steps away from good restaurants and cocktail bars. The drive to reception is quite a steep climb.
The apartment was beautifully located above the lake with a wonderful view. Ivan took care of us with fresh coffee specialties for breakfast and great information on our day trip to Rome. The kids loved the garden.
Each apartment/ room is different, having different themes and are dotted around the small area.
Staff were very supportive & helpful.
Just off the train line which takes your straight through to Rome Termini
A beautiful view from a spacious balcony. Located close to the main piazza of Castel Gandolfo. Lots of amenities- fully equipped kitchen, lovely bedroom, and high ceilings.
