Fabulous family run hotel. Amazing home cooked breakfast, which varied every morning and included lots of Cretan specialities and freshly squeezed orange juice. Lovely pool and garden area. Kavousion is on a ridge above a plain covered with olive groves and hothouses growing tomatoes and cucumbers, close to the wonderful beach at Falasarna. In itself, it is nothing special as a village but its easy access to that beach is what makes it special. It is only a 3 kilometre drive to the beach but being located up above the plain means it gets the evening breezes and is much cooler.
