Good large room with esuite bathroom which had a shower over the bath and oodles of hot water. There was two chairs, a suitcase fold out stand & a large double bed. The cooked breakfast was well presented and satisfying with a choices of white or brown toast, tea or coffee. there was also cereal, yogurt and fruit juice.
One of the most unique hotels in Perth, set in a 15th century watermill, where you can still watch the water trickling through the original water wheel from the garden, reception area and Lounge Bar.
This hotel is beside the River Tay, a minute from Perth Museum and Horsecross Concert Hall. Rooms are en suite and many have views of the river and the hotel's award-winning gardens.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, right beside the river and surrounded by woodland..........but very isolated
Great if you're traveling on, but remote if you want to spend a few days in Perthshire.
That being said, I would go back.
Main house is very grand, staff very nice and lounge is very comfy
Good, really good breakfast.
Dinner, although not taken, seemed a bit pricey

The room smelled very strange.
The room smelled very strange. There was a whoppingly large beetle wandering about in the bed.
The staff were pleasant, but frankly, I wasn't happy here. I was sent to the bar to order my food and to have it at a table there. This was quite one of the most unpleasant experiences. There were only men in the bar, and silence dropped bang as soon as I walked in, all seats were taken. I was the only woman in the room.
The barman asked me to wait to put in my order although I was the only person standing at the bar at that time. I waited, and waited, and then walked out, said to the admin staff that I would prefer not to eat at all and that I was not prepared to be put through the situation at the bar that clearly was uncomfortable for everyone.
The staff then found me a place in the lounge to order some light supper. The food was excellent. But frankly, this whole situation was like something out of a zoo several generations back.
And no, I would never go back.

noisy boiler flue attached to front of building, first room offered rejected as insufficient light and too noisy. On a positive note staff happily moved us to quiet accommodation in the riverside block which have good rooms, balcony overlooking the river and lovely view. Another positive was the evening meal which was superb, well cooked and presented, breakfast was a buffet which is not our preference.

We unfortunately stayed only one night at Ballathie House, but we will never forget this short stay. Our expectations were exceeded in every respect, most notably the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the exceptionally good and superb food.
The setting of the hotel and the landscape are just wonderful, there are beautiful forests and nature parks nearby.

The food and service was 1st class but unfortunately the room we had was next to the main extractor fan for the kitchen.
This fan was left on all night and we had little sleep.
We mentioned this to reception. Reply was they need more complaints to have
Management do something.
This was not a good enough response. There is no reason to have fan on all night disturbing guests. I would like to know a change will occur before considering a stay over again. Don't accept room 17.

A magnificient building in a lovely rural area giving a relaxing atmosphere with superb dining. This hotel would suit people looking for a quiet relaxing stay to treat themselves possibly for a special occasion.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.
We dined on the second night of our stay and the food was to a very high standard and so delicious and the staff were helpful for pregnancy diet requirements.
Breakfast was also of great quality and my husband was very impressed with the choices. All in all it was a very pleasant stay, and the grounds were stunning with the autumn colours. Would definitely stay again.
The room and bathroom were spacious. Shower AND bath. Really clean. Tea and coffee topped up daily. Breakfast was amazing - best I've ever had. Even had smoked salmon. Staff lovely. We were in the cheaper Sportsman Lodge but this gave us our own front door and closer access to the car. Still had the perks of going into the main hotel for the amenities/dining.
Great setting and close to towns and mountains.
Quality of food was excellent and the service was exceptional. The only drawback was the room was situated above the kitchen with the extraction fan passing our window. This made the room very hot and if the window was opened, noisy. In general we really enjoyed the service, style and location of the hotel.
The staff honestly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. We really could not have asked for anything more. We would highly recommend this hotel. We really hope the management recognise their staff and appreciate their outstanding efforts!
Dinner was exceptionally good. Breakfast buffet was wide ranging & good quality. Wonderful situation & grounds.
Room was very spacious & comfortable. With some more money invested in plumbing updates, this would be an exceptional hotel.
Great little dog friendly hotel, staff were excellent, room was great, the food was amazingly good and we could take the dog in for breakfast. Just a short journey off A9 nth of Perth so excellent location for walking
Just a nice, classic hotel, with friendly local staff, clean and spacious rooms, nice bar with a menu to suit most dietary requirements. Best of all, dog friendly with no additional charge, will stay again.
The breakfast and breakfast choice was excellent. The evening meal we purchased was really good quality food and drink. The grounds and garden were well kept and a lovely setting for the hotel.
Spotless hotel. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Special mention for Aggie, what an asset to the hotel. Bit out of the way from A9 but more people should stay there.
Traditional house hotel could do with a major overall (don't we all) but otherwise clean and well run. staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast and great value for money.
We keep coming back to this hotel for special occasions. Riverside building has adequate rooms at a reasonable price. The food is excellent (expensive but worth it!).
Very impressive approach and first impressions of main building. Breakfast was good with a nice aspect from the dining room. Nice grounds with a river view.
