Location was good.
Staff were friendly and helpful - answered all questions.
Food was decent, breakfast was good although staff member on personal phone in middle of serving area multiple times which appeared unprofessional.

Parklands is a lovely hotel right in the middle of Perth. Over looking the park it is a great location for exploring. The food is amazing, we had dinner bed and breakfast and it was fab. Staff are so so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, right beside the river and surrounded by woodland..........but very isolated
Great if you're traveling on, but remote if you want to spend a few days in Perthshire.
That being said, I would go back.
Main house is very grand, staff very nice and lounge is very comfy
Good, really good breakfast.
Dinner, although not taken, seemed a bit pricey

The room smelled very strange.
The room smelled very strange. There was a whoppingly large beetle wandering about in the bed.
The staff were pleasant, but frankly, I wasn't happy here. I was sent to the bar to order my food and to have it at a table there. This was quite one of the most unpleasant experiences. There were only men in the bar, and silence dropped bang as soon as I walked in, all seats were taken. I was the only woman in the room.
The barman asked me to wait to put in my order although I was the only person standing at the bar at that time. I waited, and waited, and then walked out, said to the admin staff that I would prefer not to eat at all and that I was not prepared to be put through the situation at the bar that clearly was uncomfortable for everyone.
The staff then found me a place in the lounge to order some light supper. The food was excellent. But frankly, this whole situation was like something out of a zoo several generations back.
And no, I would never go back.

noisy boiler flue attached to front of building, first room offered rejected as insufficient light and too noisy. On a positive note staff happily moved us to quiet accommodation in the riverside block which have good rooms, balcony overlooking the river and lovely view. Another positive was the evening meal which was superb, well cooked and presented, breakfast was a buffet which is not our preference.

We unfortunately stayed only one night at Ballathie House, but we will never forget this short stay. Our expectations were exceeded in every respect, most notably the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the exceptionally good and superb food.
The setting of the hotel and the landscape are just wonderful, there are beautiful forests and nature parks nearby.

The food and service was 1st class but unfortunately the room we had was next to the main extractor fan for the kitchen.
This fan was left on all night and we had little sleep.
We mentioned this to reception. Reply was they need more complaints to have
Management do something.
This was not a good enough response. There is no reason to have fan on all night disturbing guests. I would like to know a change will occur before considering a stay over again. Don't accept room 17.

A magnificient building in a lovely rural area giving a relaxing atmosphere with superb dining. This hotel would suit people looking for a quiet relaxing stay to treat themselves possibly for a special occasion.
Iliked the lovely warm comfy and very spacious old Scottish castle-like Hotel with turrets. Set in massive grounds and woods and bang next to the river where ppl fly fished. We had lovely weather so it was wonderful. The staff were very helpful in every way. They helped us out with a great meal when someone let us down for dinner at another venue. That is definitely the extra mile and they did it in 20 minutes of us phoning up and asking as we were 20 minutes away. What more could you ask for. I will go here again. Lovely breakfast too.
The food and dining are first class - with dinner at a fixed price of £55 you expect top notch - the hotel does not disappoint. The setting and ambience is perfect - views over the Tay in summer - log fires in winter!
Rooms are at three levels, inside the main (old) building, and "Riverside" or "Lodge" rooms in newer buildings set in the grounds. We have always opted for the "Riverside" rooms. The "Lodge" accommodation is closer to a motel than a hotel!
We had a wonderful stay here because of the staff aswell as the property. All staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They kindly set out a large breakfast table for us at our rather late request (sorry) and also kindly offered us coffee/tea later in the bar area whilst we waited for our high tea window area to be available in the drawing room once daily cleaning finished. Fantastic service in a lovely hotel/setting. Thank you very much all.
Quality of food was excellent and the service was exceptional. The only drawback was the room was situated above the kitchen with the extraction fan passing our window. This made the room very hot and if the window was opened, noisy. In general we really enjoyed the service, style and location of the hotel.
Bedroom and en suite were really big. Lovely big bath and separate shower. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Dinner was good with lots of choice. Breakfast was really good too. Car park to side of hotel with ample parking. Nice walk downhill to the mill and river.
The staff were very pleasant. The accommodation was lovey. Very comfortable bed. The dinner was delicious and we enjoyed our drink in the lounge after dinner. A very enjoyable stay followed by a very pleasant breakfast. Lovely porridge! We will be back.
Dinner in the Bar as they allowed dogs. They also accommodated our dog in the alcove for breakfast so we didn't need to leave him in the room. Grounds are excellent as is the hotel. Already thinking of booking a longer stay next year.
Food cooked to order, an hotel with character and friendly staff and owner. Who were very helpful and polite at all times. We stopped at the tayside for one night on the way to Inverness. Ideal location, and comfortable clean room
Great little dog friendly hotel, staff were excellent, room was great, the food was amazingly good and we could take the dog in for breakfast. Just a short journey off A9 nth of Perth so excellent location for walking
Asked for a quiet room in the Riverside block and the hotel obliged. The evening meal is expensive but well worth the money for a culinary treat. Breakfast is also first class. Ambience is terrific!
Spotless hotel. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Special mention for Aggie, what an asset to the hotel. Bit out of the way from A9 but more people should stay there.
The food was delicious and a lovely menu.
The main hotel building has a lovely old fashioned charm to it, like a by gone era...
Loved the atmosphere, and the staff couldn't do enough to help.
We keep coming back to this hotel for special occasions. Riverside building has adequate rooms at a reasonable price. The food is excellent (expensive but worth it!).
