There is so much to love about this property. A rich history with amazing character inside and in the courtyard. The breakfast was also really good.

This is a beautiful village but The Lamb Inn was the only establishment open on a Monday so check ahead of time if you are hoping to wander to other pubs. It is extremely quiet at night and there are no shops. Chipping Norton has everything you might need and is only a short drive from the village.

Beautiful, clean room and bathroom.
Beautiful, clean room and bathroom. Fantastic food in the restaurant. Garlic bread, fish and chips to die for. Staff are very professional and friendly. The only problem was the sounds that we could hear from the people/children next door to ours, coughing, taking shower, flushing water, squeaky foor boards, their entire conversion early in the morning. It felt like they were in our room which is a shame because we have loved everything else about this lovely place

Shipton has loads of history to absorb.
Shipton has loads of history to absorb. Its miles from anywhere so you can really get away from it all. There are pretty walks and two pubs with good food, One more family/everyday with lower prices and another a bit more sophisticated and costs more .But both good food and welcoming.

What a gem this inn is!!!
Everything about our stay was superb.
Courteous staff that are so helpful, go the extra mile for you and are all happy at all times.
The room was spacious, clean and just right for us.
The evening meal was great and value for money.
The breakfast was fantastic with great choices either full English or continental and special mention to Michelle at breakfast time as she was so pleasant, refreshing and certainly did go the extra mile for all of the visitors. She and all staff are a credit to the Lamb Inn.
We fully recommend this inn and having stayed in lots of accommodation this is a hidden gem!!
Great value for money.

A stunning property with amazing architecture.
A stunning property with amazing architecture. Lovely comfortable bedroom and very well appointed. Picturesque courtyard with tables and chairs for relaxing in the beautiful surroundings. Our host 'Bill' is a complete pro and a great character. He also cooked me probably the best Eggs Royale for breakfast that I have ever had in my entire life!! Good sized secure car park at the rear of the property. The village is 'chocolate box' beautiful and we enjoyed a stroll after breakfast around the Wychwood Wild Gardens where there were many happy birds and wildlife, enjoying expertly maintained woodlands and ponds. Highly recommend the Shaven Crown and its owner Bill who went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect.

Avery strange welcoming, although the man was very nice and polite, it was not clear where the check-in/reception was, he seemed almost surprised of our arrival.
Unfortunately, our room was dirty, a very strong and offensive smell on my side of the bed which made me feel slightly sick and kept me awake throughout the night along with the noise of the cars going through the village as this was a road facing bedroom.. There was a plastic container under the bathroom radiator due to a water leak. There was also mould growing in the shower and other places!
It's very odd as most of the reviews I have read about the property are very positive which was the main reason we booked this accommodation. It makes me wonder if maybe the cleaner was not available prior to our stay to keep the room up to usual standards?
I unfortunately will not be back, it's such a shame as i loved the character of the property, but could have had a much more enjoyable stay somewhere different in the Cotswolds for half the price!

The staff were fabulous, hotel was spotless and comfortable. The bars/restaurant were comfortable and beautifully decorated, loved the traditional snug with log fire. Our room was lovely, super king bed & walk in shower and bath. Tea and coffee facilities were plentiful with the addition of homemade flapjacks on the first day.
Our room overlooked lovely seating areas outside in a well kept garden plus a sheltered, heated area and an outside bar which I imagine would be fabulous in the summer months
We loved everything about our stay at the Summerhouse. The accommodation was delightful and for Salon Prive next year it will be back to Shipton under Wychwood. Martin and Lowri were superb, warm, friendly hosts. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious; due both to the quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen. In summary our stay was a ten out of ten!
Wonderful small hotel in a central location in the Cotswolds. Breakfast was included and was wonderful. Had, lunch and dinner at the hotel and meals were all delicious. Staff was excellent - friendly and helpful. Hotel and rooms absolutely spotless with lovely decor. An exceptional experience all around and look forward to staying there again sometime.
This was one of the best BNBs that we have every stayed in. Martin was a wonderful host, shared ideas on things to see everyday, and made us a wonder breakfast. Everything was just as respresented in the pictures and in the other reviews. There is no better place to stay for a few nights in the Cotswolds!!
Authentic heritage property. Our friendly hosts went over and above to welcome us and make our stay comfortable. Lovely big bed for a tall person. Breakfast was delicious and relaxing. Plenty of safe on-site parking at the rear. Close to local pubs for dinner. Enjoyed our stay.
Rooms are really nice and cosy. The pub food is absolutely excellent and everything we tried on the menu across four meals was excellent. The breakfast provided in the morning is a real highlight. The location in Shipton under Wychwood is very nice.
This was one of the best hotel/ BnB stays we have ever had. Everything from the room, to the decor, to the staff and the food was truly exceptional, we could not fault anything. We are already planning our return - highly highly recommend.
As a long haul pilot I have had many breakfasts around the world in so many hotels I have lost count....without a doubt this was the best breakfast I have EVER had! From the taste to the presentation to the view. Absolutely faultless!
In a beautiful setting with all aspects of impeccable taste this B&B is amazing. It felt as though it were my own country home and certainly rivals many 5 star hotels in which I have stayed throughout the world. Gorgeous!
This is a lovely flat well placed for the pubs/restaurants in the village, really clean with excellent facilities and within easy reach of everywhere we wanted to go in the Cotswolds.
We will definitely stay here again!
Very middle of the road, good base for traveling around the Cotswolds
Fresh milk was a nice touch
Breakfast on Tuesday was very good but went down hill by Friday when almost inedible
