Middlewich is a small town with a few town centre pubs and restaurants. Not very far from the town, there are walks along the canal path with a busy working lock. There are two pubs adjacent to the canal, one which serves food. It was a pleasant way to spend a sunny spring day.

Newton Brewery Inn was just a short walk from the town centre and supermarket as well as being next to the river, so for my trip this was a great location. Middlewich is only a few minutes drive from the M6

Town centre very quiet with not a lot in it but quiet reasonably picturesque. Very nice Indian restaurant at night, excellent cafe for breakfast. Really nice walking along by the canal. OK to use as a base.

Our anniversary meal at El Padrino restaurant was fantastic, nice staff, great food and value for money. Not overly impressed by the town itself but the Big Lock pub is in a smashing location. Local people were really friendly and helpful.

Loved the place it was OK for our stay and we could compare both rooms one was bijou and modern for our daughters and ours a large family suite. You could hear the road traffic but I can sleep on a washing line so it didn't affect any of us. The staff were so helpful and happy in their work.

I didn't really see much of Middlewich as I had an itinerary in Nantwich already organised. You will need transport to see any of the local sights, although I suspect there could be lots of local walks (but I haven't confirmed this).

Location is perfect, just outside the centre of Middlewich and an easy walk into the town. Walk in the opposite direction along the canal path and there's a working lock just a short walk away. There's a gastropub where you can watch the narrow boats negotiating the lock from the veranda of the pub. The landlady of the Newton Brewery Inn is very helpful and friendly and the drinks were very reasonable prices. There is a very large beer garden leading down to the canal with very picturesque walks along the tow path.

The building though on a corner opposite Morrisons, look for the number, not the name. It was very quiet during the night so was able to get an excellent nights sleep, there is a modern breakfast and meal stall in the hotel carpark from 7 am. and a neat terrace, with tables, up the metal stairs to the entry door, to eat it on. Excellent hot shower in my room. Room was cool even though hot outside, brilliant.

The location was perfect, as we were visiting friends who lived 1 mile up the road. The coffee shop/Restaurant was excellent with a good variety of food on offer. The cakes were amazing. Easy access from the M6. Central for SANDBACH, MIDDLEWICH, NANTWICH. THE Farm shop was amazing and not over priced. Also within the grounds, we're small shops, for clothing and shoes, garden statues, a little pet shop.

Very pleasant and helpfull staff. The dynamic owner/manager went out of his way to offer us a large ground floor room when we experienced difficulty with the steep stairs to the first floor rooms. Room 8 is very large, some would call it a mini-suite, with equally large en-suite and spacious shower. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and knocks the usual chain hotel buffet offering into a cocked hat.

Very pretty location with nice garden to chill in after a long drive. Caroline and Clive were incredibly helpful and great hosts. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Would go again if we are in the area, much nicer than sterile hotel chains you find dotted around.

There was nowhere in Middlewich to get breakfast on a Sunday and according to friends its not much better in the week. I wish I'd known that the narrowboat did evening meals the Menu looked really good but we'd already arranged to meet family. Will definatly try it next time

A great location close to the motorway but far enough away not to be bothered by noise, located on the edge of town but easy walking for pub or restaurant although the food at the hotel is absolutely top drawer you do not need to wander.
