The property was well tucked away in a elevated position but was still a short drive away from the main road in Pant. On arriving found the private entrance and parkin was more than adequate, with space to turn around.
The property itself is very well appointed with a nice clean modern kitchen/dining area and lounge, with a double bedroom and en suite shower room.
There was everything needed to cook whatever meals you wanted to with a large enough fridge to cater for most people. Nice touch was to leave milk, eggs an biscuit etc. for those who might forget to bring these / as a welcome treat on arival.
There is free wifi which was a bonus, and needed for those wanting to access the internet etc. as there is zero mobile phone signal at the property (we use O2 and three sims).
The shower room is nicely tiled, very clean, with plenty of towels provided.
The double bed is extremely comfortable, and with an electric heater in the bedroom and lounge, plus an electric towel rail in the shower room to adjust the temperature to everyone's liking. As it is extremely quiet in this property, sleep was not an issue!
The property is very dog friendly, with dogs allowed inside the property as long as you dog is kept off the sofa/bed i.e. perfectly acceptable. The property is also fully enclosed to allow your dog to roam in the large area provided, plus the added benefit of a large dog kennel to use if needed. The walks from the property are also pretty special.
Filthy room, sticky armchair, feeble shower, misleading website, no food despite website, misinformation about local facilities. As for the tips for a great review that Booking, com provides, my favourite places were those I saw in the rear-view mirror, I ate in a pub the hotel did not recommend since the one they did didn't do food either. It is easy to get around Llanymynech because there's nothing there, although it is mercifully easy not only to get into but also out of. What would I avoid on my next visit: the whole experience. And, although I have used Booking.com as my default hotel booker for at least a decade, I would - I will - be very much more careful about the hotels they list: they have a duty of care to their clients which, at least on this occasion, they absolutely failed to deliver.

The village itself doesn't have a lot to offer but it is well located to travel around locally (less than 45 minutes) to find some beautiful towns, waterfalls and activities to do.
Lots of pubs to choose from (be warned not many serve food late on a Sunday).
Travelling by road is as you as you would expect for Wales B roads connected by lots of single lane tracks but lots of passing places and all drivers we came across were considerate.

It was our first stop walking The Monty. It made the first day a bit long but there was no option. Good places to eat for such a small town.
We ate in The Bedford Arms, Despite the heat they still put on a meal for us.

Funny little village at the bottom of a lovely hill on the Offa's Dyke and the Motgomery canal - now disused, but a haven for wildlife. Llanynynech has 3 pubs: The Bradford, the Dolphin and the Cross Keys, each with very different characters, clientele and offerings. Also has a Chinese and an Indian takeaway and a great little café for breakfast.

I didnt get to spend much dayttime in village but found facilities to meet most peoples needs the areas i did see were veey scenic and views from llanymynech golf course were stunning a very good testing course
If you’re looking for a warm welcome and outstanding hospitality along Offa’s Dyke, then this is the place for you. We were met by the landlord who made us most welcome and looked after us splendidly. This is a very old building but the WiFi worked just fine throughout and the continental breakfast delivered to our day was delicious, varied and generous. The rooms were large and clean and everything worked perfectly. The Cross Keys Hotel is a simple inn from other times, made special by the kindness and attention of the owner.
A very warm welcome from our host Jamie, even a bottle of beer each on arrival in the fridge in our room.
The bedroom was ever so well appointed and the bed was just one of the best I have slept in a hotel.
Breakfast was very good and we were invited to join the family to watch the ruby outside under a sun shade on a very warm day. Fantastic will book again if we are travelling around the area. Thanks to Jamie and family.
Beautiful house/hotel with an interesting history in a lovely location within easy walking distance of local amenities, pubs and restaurants and central to some excellent walks and scenic places.
The hosts were lovely, very friendly and helpful, happy to sit and chat or leave you to yourself.
I couldn't fault the breakfast. Plenty of it, well presented.
The bar area looked good although surprisingly it closed at 8 so I went elsewhere, for a small village though there were two other pub/hotels and a nice Indian restaurant which I went to plus two or three takeaways.
Nice pleasant staff.
Handy for my job the next day in Oswestry.
Sandra the mother of Samantha was a was absolutely warm and welcoming lady and would appear to be the rock of the hotel and family what a fantastic lady . Good Luck to Jamie, Sandra and the family for the journey ahead on the restoration of this beautiful building.
The friendly manager was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast could not be provided at the hotel as the kitchen is being refurbished but we were offered the cafe opposite or a breakfast box if leaving early. We took the latter and it was very generous!
This venue does not have the kerb appeal but the hospitality and friendliness of the staff makes it exceptional. They could not do enough for me and the service exceeded that of hotels which are much more expensive. Would recommend.
Great hosts Very nice place to stay Everything you need provided in the cottage A good location for visiting other places Two nice hotels and a local chip shop We really enjoyed our time there.
A brilliant hotel. Full of character and charm. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. A great location too, close to Powis Castle, Chirk Castle and lots of other interesting places too.
