Great location for Offas dyke path. Nice clean room a little noisy but the weather was warm so we had a window open and folks were sitting outside but quiet later on. Lovely cooked breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.

Pool and spa was a real bonus! Highlight of the stay. Staff were great too (shoutout Will and Leslie!)
Really nice town to stay in. Lots of places to eat and drink. Good selection of shops as well. Coming from London I was pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced food and drink was, and the choice and quality was very good. Knighton is a great base for walks along Offers Dyke and visiting local sites. I would certainly stay there again.

Well known for the Offa's Dyke Centre and the start of the famous Offa's Dyke walk but other than that the town, although elegantly Victorian in build, does not have much else going for it, to my knowledge. I did find a lovely place to eat in Knucklas, nearby, "The Castle Inn" which offers an assortment of pies but most notably authentic Thai dishes as the chef is Thai. The night I went there was a 'pub quiz night' and wonderful waitress service which elevated the esperience altogether.

Good evening meal at the Horse and Jockey pub - reasonable price, good choice and friendly staff.
Had a good bacon butty and cuppa in J D's Cafe.
Nice snack lunch in the cafe at the Prince and Pugh store. Great shop too - has all sorts, including gifts and cards!
Lovely church to visit - surprisingly large with beautiful stained glass windows, painted organ and embroidered kneeling cushions. Well worth a visit.
Peaceful walk down by the river with direct access to the Offa's Dyke Way. Great area for walkers.
Historic heart, decent range of shops for a small town and choice of cafes, plus restaurants. A great Co-Op shop that opens up inside like the Dr Who tardis! 😄
Good base too for exploring the local area.

A lovely little town where we could quite happily have stayed for much longer.
There were some lovely shops and a couple of art galleries in the town. if you are looking for gifts or cookware we would suggest you check out Prince & Pugh - this lovely shop even allowed our dogs in to say hello.
Rhi at Tower House Gallery was exceptionally warm and friendly even remembering us on our second visit. We highly recommend this shop if you are looking for greeting cards, local art works or books but also for their delicious cakes.
We would highly recommend the Horse & Jockey for food - it was reasonably priced and the food was incredible. The service here was also fantastic especially Georgia who was looking after the bar where we sat.
Knighton is on a hill...quite a steep one at that so please be warned that it might not be ideal for people with mobility issues!

I enjoyed walking to the Henry Robertson viaduct built in the1860s to take some interesting photos, only five minutes from the Castle Hotel.
Also, to visit Stokesay Castle which near to Craven Arms this is an
English Heritage site, it is not free but very interesting.
Knighton is central for petrol stops and has a supermarket.
The Castle Hotel in Knucklas, has a wide menu and they cook fresh.
From the moment we arrived we realised this was a proper pub..restaurant area, sports area and a snug all coming off a lively outdoor courtyard. Didn’t eat but the food look too quality pub grub suitable for the hungry. Staff were are really helpful, especially Chloe who was brilliant with our wee dog. Rooms were small but modern and comfortable and definitely great value. Knighton is an odd little place..but we loved that about it..will return. Thank you.
II was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bedroom . This place is quite 'quirky' - the rooms were up a flight of metal steps and from the outside looked pretty basic but inside, ours was spotlessly clean. The hotel itself is also fairly plain from outside but the bar and restaurant areas are really nice and the staff very efficient and welcoming. The breakfast was good too -And the surroundings are superb.
Easy to find in Knighton. We arrived by train, for those with a car there is a parking space next to the house. Local shops nearby including a well stocked Co-op. We didn’t eat out, but used the mini kitchen to prepare our food. It was set up with everything we needed. It was perfect for our nights stay before setting off on our walk along a section of the Offas Dyke.
This is in a great location. Host was very kind as mentioned in other reviews for bringing a cake over and talking a bit. Furniture and kitchen are definitely older, with older accessories. Upstairs bathroom and sunroom are newer but again well used. Has a very homey feel. They make very clear they are a "green" property with lots of signs of what to and not to do.
Comfortable bed and pillows.
Cosy sitting room with extra gas fire, comfy seating and good television.
Spotlessly clean throughout and very well equipped kitchen.
Lovely spacious rooms and pleasant decor.
Helpful owner - flexible.
Near to Knighton centre with shops, petrol station and cafes/pubs.
Will definitely stay there again and would recommend it.
We had a great room with a fantastic view in the middle of the town. There are a few free parking spaces at the rear of the hotel and as we were there to walk the Offa's Dyke trail I didn't need to move the car at all during our stay. The local train station and buses are just around the corner and we used both. This is a great base to spend time in Mid Wales.
Beautiful building great staff and brilliant value for money. I spend a lot of my time staying in hotels all over the world and the UK hotels are a disgrace compared to the rest of Europe and the world but there is hope the Knighton hotel is head and shoulders above anything in this country. I would recommend this lovely place without any doubt
Neil was very hospitable and very welcoming on arrival. We were walking Offas Dyke and the hotel is right on the path. The room was immaculate with everything you could need and a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was brilliant. Definitely stay here!
Splendid large breakfast of exceptional quality. Very friendly and efficient people. Comfortable and quiet room with plenty of space, spacious large shower. Everything spotless. Right in the middle of Knighton so convenient for the station.
We wanted to stay in the middle of Wales near a train line. Knighton was a perfect spot for walking along Offa’s dyke. We had a great meal at the Jockey & Horse and the hotel had a great bathroom, nice big towels and comfy bed.
We felt so welcomed and was a perfect stop off on the Offas Dyke trail, right in the centre of Knighton. The room was nice and clean and the property is really charming. Was great to have use of the shared kitchen.
The landlady Ming and chef was amazingly accommodating for us. Rooms were perfect and clean, pub restaurant was a little gem, Thai food was top quality. We will be back again, prefect place for our stay. Thanks
The location the peace and quiet the hot tub the sauna although we didn’t use it nice little pub in village weds -sun lol and plenty of places a short drive away Knighton loads of pubs lovely little town
