The Garden Room, hotel in Knighton

Boasting garden views, The Garden Room features accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 38 km from Elan Valley. Guests can benefit from a patio and a picnic area.

The location in Knighton was perfect. A 10 min walk from the station and in the centre of town. A number of good places to eat and drink - even on a Monday which is rare in these rural places. The accommodation had everything you needed and was very cosy and comfortable. We will certainly book again when next in the area. Knighton is a great area for walking.

Burton Hotel, hotel in Knighton

Set within a modernised coaching inn, the family-run Burton Hotel is a residence situated on the Offa’s Dyke footpath in the small market town of Kington, which lies on the Welsh border.

Nice staff great location only downside was my room. They are old rooms and whilst the bathroom was a good size the water pressure in the shower was very bad and barely useable. At £115 a night that’s not good enough.

Really nice town to stay in.

Really nice town to stay in. Lots of places to eat and drink. Good selection of shops as well. Coming from London I was pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced food and drink was, and the choice and quality was very good. Knighton is a great base for walks along Offers Dyke and visiting local sites. I would certainly stay there again.

Well known for the Offa's Dyke Centre and the start of the famous Offa's Dyke walk but other than that the town, although elegantly Victorian in build, does not have much else going for it, to my knowledge. I did find a lovely place to eat in Knucklas, nearby, "The Castle Inn" which offers an assortment of pies but most notably authentic Thai dishes as the chef is Thai. The night I went there was a 'pub quiz night' and wonderful waitress service which elevated the esperience altogether.

Good evening meal at the Horse and Jockey pub - reasonable price, good choice and friendly staff. Had a good bacon butty and cuppa in J D's Cafe. Nice snack lunch in the cafe at the Prince and Pugh store. Great shop too - has all sorts, including gifts and cards! Lovely church to visit - surprisingly large with beautiful stained glass windows, painted organ and embroidered kneeling cushions. Well worth a visit. Peaceful walk down by the river with direct access to the Offa's Dyke Way. Great area for walkers. Historic heart, decent range of shops for a small town and choice of cafes, plus restaurants. A great Co-Op shop that opens up inside like the Dr Who tardis! 😄 Good base too for exploring the local area.

A lovely little town where we could quite happily have stayed for much longer. There were some lovely shops and a couple of art galleries in the town. if you are looking for gifts or cookware we would suggest you check out Prince & Pugh - this lovely shop even allowed our dogs in to say hello. Rhi at Tower House Gallery was exceptionally warm and friendly even remembering us on our second visit. We highly recommend this shop if you are looking for greeting cards, local art works or books but also for their delicious cakes. We would highly recommend the Horse & Jockey for food - it was reasonably priced and the food was incredible. The service here was also fantastic especially Georgia who was looking after the bar where we sat. Knighton is on a hill...quite a steep one at that so please be warned that it might not be ideal for people with mobility issues!

I enjoyed walking to the Henry Robertson viaduct built in the1860s to take some interesting photos, only five minutes from the Castle Hotel. Also, to visit Stokesay Castle which near to Craven Arms this is an English Heritage site, it is not free but very interesting. Knighton is central for petrol stops and has a supermarket. The Castle Hotel in Knucklas, has a wide menu and they cook fresh.

Lovely original Farmhouse on the Welsh/English border surrounded by stunning scenery and just 5 minutes drive from Knighton and all it's amenities. Easy to get to, a great spot for exploring the valley. Wonderful views. Very welcoming owner, cosy wood fire, modern kitchen, comfy beds, so lovely to be close to the animals too. My daughter loved it there - first time on a horse too 😊

This is in a great location. Host was very kind as mentioned in other reviews for bringing  a cake over and talking a bit. Furniture and kitchen are definitely older, with older accessories. Upstairs bathroom and sunroom are newer but again well used. Has a very homey feel. They make very clear they are a "green" property with lots of signs of what to and not to do.

Spotlessly clean! Modern and comfortable decor/furniture. Great range of facilities. Good location - very short walk into Knighton. Spacious rooms. Good showers and comfortable beds. Gas fire in sitting room to supplement central heating if very cold outside. Nice conservatory and patio. The property is not overlooked. Felt secure.

Beautiful building great staff and brilliant value for money. I spend a lot of my time staying in hotels all over the world and the UK hotels are a disgrace compared to the rest of Europe and the world but there is hope the Knighton hotel is head and shoulders above anything in this country. I would recommend this lovely place without any doubt

A good location in Knighton, especially for walking Offa's Dyke. An old establishment with character and a very good menu and quality of food both for an evening meal and breakfast. A very small room with clean, pleasant en-suite. Served by a helpful member of staff in the dining room.

We wanted to stay in the middle of Wales near a train line. Knighton was a perfect spot for walking along Offa’s dyke. We had a great meal at the Jockey & Horse and the hotel had a great bathroom, nice big towels and comfy bed.
