Strathardle Lodge, hotel in Kirkmichael

Situated in Kirkmichael, Strathardle Lodge has a fully stocked honesty bar, guest lounge and free WiFi as well as in-house Cake School.

Strathardle Lodge is a real gem. The original building is over 300 years old, but has been lovingly restored, refurbished and maintained. It sits on the banks of the River Ardle, with fishing rights to 100 metres of river in front of the lodge. Two beautifully furnished, cosy lounges with new leather chairs and open fires (in winter). An extensive range of 10 and 12 year old single malt whiskies and some blends too. New owner Chris (since March 2023) will happily share his thoughts on each and offer guidance to help your choice. There’s also a well-stocked bar with several gins, beer, red and white wine and soft drinks, with accompanying snacks. The freezer is packed with a variety of well-priced, ready-made frozen meals which guests can buy and cook (microwave) themselves. The rooms are large and airy, and EXCEPTIONALLY clean, with large bathroom and deep, claw-foot bath. Continental and cooked breakfasts are included in the tariff. Choices include traditional Haggis and Black Pudding. This property has a real, home-away-from-home, comfortable, cosy, relaxing atmosphere. We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer.

Our room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with good quality mattress . Breakfast was beautiful and the staff were very polite and friendly making the breakfast time very relaxing . We didn’t have a main meal when we checked in only because we don’t when travelling on our first night . Will definitely book here again and for longer next time .

Property is an old Victorian building and decor reflects this it is not a modern hotel. Our room was quirky, carpet a little tired, bed comfy, bathroom modern and clean although shaver point didn’t work. Evening meals were excellent, buffet breakfast could be better. Would stay again.

Kirkmichael is a quiet wee town but you have the mountains of glenshee to the east and Pitlochry to the west. And an amazing road between. Nice wee shop with cafe for everything you need. Great river walk from the village.

Kirkmichael is a hamlet situated on the River Ardle.

Kirkmichael is a hamlet situated on the River Ardle. In the village are a few lodgings, a restaurant and a small local shop. The village is situated on the road between Blairgowrie and Pitlochry. This road takes you through beautiful countryside, but the road is very winding and mostly single track.

Ken & Moira were very friendly and gave great tips that ensured we got the best from our time there. We ate in Kirkmichael at the local hotel for our first night and again on our third as the food was so good. Although we left our small dog at home for this trip, we quickly found out that dogs were more than welcome at the B&B as well as all the restaurants we visited. Will take her with us next time.

we had a very enjoyable stay at the Lodge.

we had a very enjoyable stay at the Lodge. It was very comfy & clean. Ken & Katherine couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast & evening meals we had were good, very reasonably priced & of good portion. Set up the hills on the edge of the forest being a quiet location. Having deer on the doorstep is a bonus. Would definetly stay again

Friendly, laid-back, but very attentive hosts. Hotel is very cool place, well integrated with local community (There's an honesty bar with games and guest mingling where the great breakfast is served. But recommended to book for nearby community pub for meals in evening a short walk away). I'd stay here again. Hosts are Paul and David. Paul also runs a cake-making video channel. They recently bought the hotel and are developing it in stages. It's a really fun stay.

The Stradhardle Lodge is located in the heart of the wonderful Perth and Kinross region. Kirkmichael is just a lovely little village surrounded by beautiful forrest and peaceful nature. The room was very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed Paul and David’s amazing hospitality and their harty breakfast most of all. In hindsight we wished we booked more days in the lodge. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a place to unwind and explore the area.

My husband and I recently spent four nights at Strathardle Lodge, which far exceeded our expectations. Paul and David are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make guests feel at home. We were in room 5, a lovely bright double aspect room with views over the countryside, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have had in any hotel. We are already planning a return trip.

This a lovely little b & b in a pretty little village. Moira and Ken are very friendly and helpful hosts. Breakfast was delicious, particularly the avocado and poached egg on sourdough toast! The Kirkmichael hotel is about a minute's walk away and serves excellent meals and again, it's very friendly. overall, a great stay

The staff are incredibly friendly and the hotel is a typical cosy country hotel with a log fire and everything you need for a comfortable visit. A very friendly, relaxed feel with great food and a barman that always makes sure your drinks topped up.

We were offered without asking a continental breakfast because of an early start one morning which was brilliant. The hotel needs a little modernization but made up for this with welcoming atmosphere.
