Whiteley Mill, hotel in Ilkeston

Whiteley Mill is offering accommodation in Stapleford. Free WiFi is available. At the hotel, all rooms are fitted with a desk, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels.

The room was clean and of a decent size. The check-in process is straightforward enough, there is no reception so everything is done via door codes and key locks but it was ok. Just make sure you don't have a flat phone battery when you're trying come back in as you've got two door codes to remember! The room includes teen coffee-making facilities full stop there is no on-site restaurant or cafe for breakfast but there are options nearby as well as a Lidl round the corner.

The Orchard Hotel & Restaurant, hotel in Ilkeston

Adjacent to the East Midlands Conference Centre, this contemporary 4-star hotel features accessible rooftop terraces, green roofs and free Wi-Fi in all areas.

House rules not user friendly. None of our requests were granted despite the fact that we book lots of rooms for a wedding. Very impersonal service.

It has a really good high street with a variety of shops.

It has a really good high street with a variety of shops. Lots of coffee shops and pubs. The museum is really interesting and often puts on events for children. We went at Halloween half term and they had a spooky event; craft, hunt the skeleton parts or Wally and wild birds (owls etc) on display outside. Victoria Park is lovely and has a play area and a café.
