Very old building, the staff were lovely. Very dog friendly. Lots of breakfast choices. Beds were very comfortable & had everything you could think of in the room. We had dinner a couple of nights and the food was exceptional and worth the price. Fresh caught fish on the day and just good old style pub. For the dog owners there's a lovely walk just 5 minutes walk away, walking through the old market square of Broughton-in-Furness to the old railway line.

Breakfast was nice although bacon was over salty.
Room was very hot although I think it's above the kitchen, so that could explain it.
Staff were very helpful, although when looking for a drink, we ended up giving up and going to the Black Bull. The table service took far too long and they wouldn't serve us if we went to the bar. That did let the place down

Did the job, cute wee room above a traditional Cumbrian pub. Great place to stay if you also want to enjoy some real ales and Cumbrian food. The staff were all lovely and it had good heating (not always the case in these parts). The breakfast the next day was tasty and served in front of a roaring fire.

The Farmstead is actually located in Water Yeat not High Nibthwaite. Water Yeat is a beautiful tiny hamlet. Nearest shop or pub is in Coniston. Beautiful night skies, no light pollution. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Fantastic pub meal at White Hart Inn at Ulverston, about ten minutes drive.
