All the staff were very helpful, respectful, our room had plenty of room and the bathroom was very good for disabled people, the room was very clean, plenty to eat for breakfast and a good choice.

Excellent 1 night stay, the hot tub area was lovely with the gazebo and pretty lights. Caravan was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. The best part by far would have to be the gorgeous Reggie the Rottweiler, even though he wouldn't allow selfies with me!!

Tea & coffee provided but no milk, we don't drink milk so it wasn't a issue for use. We didn't ask as it wasn't needed.
Outside garden is well kept with view of the horses in the field.
Flaxton is a small village - very pretty and well kept.
Flaxton is a small village - very pretty and well kept. Even though the Thompson Arms is just outside the village, it is obviously very popular with the locals, and has a lively and friendly clientele. We were made to feel most welcome.

I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business...
I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business there, but needed a reasonably priced overnight stay as I had further work in Scarborough the following day. With more time the proximity to Castle Howard would have been a big plus.
We enjoyed a comfortable night in a clean and pleasant room, with all we needed. Stuart was a friendly host and we had drinks and snacks in the bar in the evening and a very good breakfast in the morning.
The location suited us well, as close to family.
Flaxton is a few miles out of York, but easy to get there by car. It is quite close to Castle Howard and to A64 and not far from A19.
The shower head was too small and didn't provide great water supply.Also did not stay in the riser rail and kept slipping down resulting in having to hold it for a shower.Very annoying.Suggest it is replaced with a bigger head and fits properly.
Cosy location. Brilliant private cottage. Loved the pool table. Lovely and friendly host. This is written by my 11 year old son. He loved the place. 20 minutes to York train station. Great breakfast. Will definitely visit again. 👍
Tee stay for a wedoat a nearby location. Stuart the owner of the Thompson arms drove us to the venue and picked us up at 12.30 am ! We paid £20 for the service. Very friendly pub with chatty locals. The breakfast was lovely.
Stuart and Lilli were really accommodating. Stuart provided a taxi service to the wedding we were attending which was a really helpful. He keeps a great drop of Yorkshire Bitter as well!
The cottage was very clean and homely, with all that you need for your stay. Located close to park n ride to get into York and supermarkets for food.
