Parts of Biddeford were lively and busy with independent shops and eateries. The Bread Cafe was excellent. The staff were very attentive and engaging. We didn’t eat there as we had already eaten a large breakfast but the Rock Buns looked amazing and were very popular with other customers. However, there was also an area that looked a little rundown and in need of some tlc. A sign of the times sadly.

My accommodation was five miles or so from Bideford, in the countryside. Bideford offers shopping and eating opportunities and is a pleasant town. Not a place to spend all your time but, a good base from which to explore N. Devon.

We went in the winter which limited us a little but that's no criticism of the town or area, of course. Lots of tourist facilities. LOADS of activities and nearby beaches/estuaries. Shops open everywhere despite it being March and cold and wet.
It's a lovely place to visit for holiday/break/activities. Perhaps a tiny bit old fashioned but that added to the charm and if you needed tech it was there, just not so much in your face as at home.
Just the right atmosphere for family and/or romance.
Loveliest views & stunning landscapes offering endless walking/hiking/biking/watersports.

Superb fish & chips at Mr Chips and amazing Chinese food for takeaway at Mr Ho, loads of great restaurants and takeaways to choose from.
All large supermarkets available and the shopping area by Asda is worth a look.
Lot's of great charity shops but very uphill walk which is not really user friendly for anyone using crutches or walking stick, best to get droped off at the top and take it steady back down to the river front.

Friendly town with good places for the family to dine and rest. Ample areas to stroll around the town with waterfront and parks. Shopping is adequate and supermarkets allow for self-dining if required. Affordable restaurants and welcoming staff everywhere we visited.

The location was so central to everything.
The location was so central to everything. Albeit in the sticks. Biddeford is very pretty. The surrounded pubs are wonderful. Nothing is too far away
We went to Victoria park. Great on a warm day for kids
Clovelly was beautiful and a lovely experience
The thatched in pub was fab
Westward ho! Beach and the waterfront inn is a must
Louise took care to get the caravan ready for us before our stay. She was friendly and kindly allowed us to check in early. The check out time was also good. The caravan was generally well equipped, clean and the double bed was very comfortable. She left tea/coffee, biscuits and other sweet treats which the children especially loved. The books and games were also great. The area is lovely and if you’re happy to have a bit of a hike back up the hill, there’s a beautiful walk through woodland down to the sea.
Lovely central location in Bideford, but still very peaceful and quiet. I arrived by bus and The Studio was just a short walk from the bus stop. Very friendly and welcoming host. Well equipped small kitchen, perfect for cooking a meal every evening to save money on eating out. The huge bed is super comfy and cosy. There are bags for recycling (a list of what can and can't be accepted would be useful) and a container for veg peelings too, very environmentally friendly.
The location was perfect for visiting just about anywhere in North Devon and into Cornwall. Just far enough off the main road to be quiet. Very cosy with the log burner lit, even with a gale blowing through the front door. Good, social kitchen area. Lounge a good size, as were the bedrooms and bathroom. Parking for one car, (it says to park on the gravel but it's covered with grass so it's difficult to gauge).
The location was superb - easy to walk into Bideford town centre or get groceries. Close to pick up SW coastal pathway. Great property for animal lovers (hens, rabbit in back garden). Enjoyed the fresh eggs. Comfy, homely feel, wonderfully decorated. Very easy to contact the host for additional information/resolving issues.
Appreciated drinking electrolyzed water for its health benefits.
We had a lovely week staying at the snug. The cottage was clean, comfortably furnished and well located for touring this area of north Devon. Lots of information about local facilities, places of interest etc provided by the owners Chris and Carol and the welcome pack of bread, milk, cream tea was greatly appreciated. As the name suggests it is however quite a small compact property.
The mount hotel was a gorgeous property in a idyllic setting close to the town of Bideford, the hotel management were friendly and very welcoming, they took their time in the morning to speak to anyone who was using their facilities, the bedrooms were comfortable and clean very high standards, I would definitely say it was a place I would visit again
Lovely hotel. Staff very welcoming, and hotel was spotlessly clean. Nice bar area with a great food menu. We stayed 2 nights and choose to dine at the hotel both evenings.
Our room was a nice size and bed was very comfortable. Westward Ho beach just a short drive away. We will most definitely stay here again when visiting North Devon.
Great location, lovely cosy room and great dedicated staff who really seem to care about our stay.
Normally we don't eat where we stay and it's not normally great, but that all changed when we had dinner there.
The food was amazing, not just for a hotel, but amazing in the area.
The Cottage was exactly as advertised. It was clean and easy to deal with Chris the owner. We stayed here whilst visiting Clovelly and Hartland so was a perfect location for exploring the local area.
Lovely view, nice little kitchen, cheapest stay we could find in Bideford for 4 people. Beautiful location. Luckily extra duvets and pillows. Appreciated the dining table.
The host contacted straight away giving process for gaining access to the property .location was perfect will definitely be staying again when we're in the area .
The breakfast was okay but the service was disorganised on the second day. The location was good with just a short walk to the beach and car journey into Bideford
Absolutely fantastic, everything you needed was available, it was clean and tidy and in a very nice area. The owners although we rarely saw them were lovely.
