Allocated a quiet room on a high floor as a light sleeper to minimise noise disturbance. Very clean and tidy and all the staff I encountered were very polite and friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well furnished for an overnight stay. I actually thought it was good value for money compared to staying in London!

Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London,...
Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London, is a pleasant working class suburb of London. The streets were clean and during the day I was happy to see that the shops were all used and open for trade. The people were approachable and friendly (although as in most places there are bound to be others that are not). I went to a local cafe and had something to eat and drink, it was surprisingly cheap and good quality. As it was New Years eve, I had to return to the area in the early hours of the morning, however, felt safe doing so, (again just be aware of the surroundings and stay alert, but this would be the same in any area). Overall, I found Barking a lovely down to earth area.

For a 2 star hotel it rated well....staff were able to provide a fan as the room was not sufficiently cool enough for sleeping
Staff were friendly and cooperative...drawback location being some distance from Barking railway station...at least 15/20 minutes walk

The room was boiling hot. there wasn't any AC available. no spare pillows and bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. shower facility was very poor. the room was very small. They call it hotel but most of the customers looked like council use this place as refuge accommodate those people. very poor quality for the money. Totally waste of money and Saturday night.
Terrible area. Terrible hotel. Terrible everything there. Even thought you might be low on budget, do NOT stay at the bank hotel in barking if you care for your health. The place should close and be sanitized. All the furnitures, beds etc should be burned. I am NOT exaggerating.

The child bunk bed was very hard and uncomfortable and it was not made on arrival so we had to put sheets on ourselves bathroom had no lock and my 3 year old can easily open the door if i was using the toilet or shower! Keycards did not work and caused us a lot of frustration and really made our whole experience at the hotel very disappointing would not stay here again wasnt cheap to book this place either at £80 is definitely not a budget hotel the family room was very small for the price
The stay at the bank hotel was not to the expectations of when I had done the booking. We faced multiple issues during our stay, No hot shower was available even after informing the reception. There was no kettle kept in the room. The kitchen was supposed to be available for guests but was under renovation which could not be used, This was extremely discomforting as we had carried food to be eaten during the trip.
I was travelling with my sisters and we just needed to use the bedroom for the nights, otherwise we were barely home. For that reason we got by and got a good nights sleep. The hosts were friendly and ready to help and answer questions when needed.
12 min walk from Barking train station and was very easy to find! And a very quiet and peaceful area!
At £15.00 per night for parking, this is extortionate. Sadly there was no where else to park. Worst of all was the fact that at the outset when booking, there was no mention that parking would cost £15 per night. Other hotels in the area charge £5, with IBIS being the most expensive at £7.00.
Just a rip off!
The studio is amazing, this place is officially my second home when I'm in the area. It is clean, cosy and just perfect. The host is a great communicator and always available for questions. A must place to stay if you happen to be in Barking and having a night over.
Amazing apartment with spectacular views with the city of London on the horizon. Convenientlly located next to Barking station (District Line, Circle Line, Hammersmith Line), which means you can reach the heart of London in about 45 minutes.
We had a great stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The stuff is friendly and helpful. A fantastic place for a small budget in London. Super close to the metro station with frequent trains to central London and all major train stations.
All the staff were pleasant and helpful and the hotel very clean. Hats off to the cleaner who tidied the room. They did a really thorough job for the 2 rooms we booked.
Great that there was free use of microwave in dining area
My booking included breakfast , but we didn't have breakfast because the hotel was asking me to pafor breakfast for my son. We didn't have breakfast for all the days and would like a refund on the breakfasts.
Nice hotel on a remote location, breakfast was very good (for London anyway :). Very good beds, every room has a sofa that can be turned into bed. Accessible by car and lot of parking space.
Location is great. Hotel is close to everything you need such as restaurants, shops, and the train station. Bed and everything else is clean. Best of all, they provide a smart TV.
.Better than expected for the price, location is OK, a bit sus in the evening but it's close to the Barking station. Comfortable bed for the price, big bathroom.
