Very good hotel for first leg of the Camino. The room was older and nothing fancy, but clean and functional. For privacy and rest after an initial long leg, it was well worth the money. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Very good breakfast.

The staff was very friendly and told us about the only open restaurant for the evening. They had a secure place to store our bikes. Room and beds very comfortable. Breakfast is great value. Check-in is only from 4 pm, so if you arrive early they have a terrace outside (at the back) where you can wait if you arrive early. They were kind enough to share the wi-fi password with us while we waited for check-in.

This hotel was just lovely from the town, to the building, to the old wood floors and stone walls. The dinner soup was lovely.
My only complaint was that the acoustics in the room were terrible such that I could hear every word between the couples in rooms surrounding mine and one very heated argument! And someone banging at them to be quiet.
Given these walls are so thin perhaps they can give out earplugs?

Very few hotel options so make reservations early.
Very few hotel options so make reservations early. No A/C in hotel but it cools off every evening and we opened windows after sunset and room cooled quickly. If you sleep hot like us ask for a sheet. Enjoyed dinner we had the daily menu and enjoyed all great options it was 3 courses for 22 euros each. Also make reservations.
Enjoy!

This hotel in an old monastery is wonderful - all modern inside but tastefully done with lovely lighting - stone floors in the reception- very accurate photos from the pictures I had the feeling it was very rural but in fact was on a main road and on a hairpin bend but despite that I didn’t hear much traffic It’s spotlessly clean and the surrounding area is gorgeous. I would definitely recommend
If you’re walking the Camino, this is a truly excellent place to stay. It is the first Hostel you’ll walk past once you descend the mountain… after the first day (from St Jean) you will honestly need a comfortable bed, clean room, good meal, and friendly staff… I can say this Hotel has all of the above. Eider, in particular, is a hard-working saint whom will always try to help you. In addition, I found the Bar staff to be very friendly, and it was a real bonus they could speak English!
The building is of 16th/17th century origin but has been beautifully restored and modernised in recent years. All that aside, for a weary traveller it was most welcome. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating - everyone of them I had contact with was understanding and tried their very best to help a non Spanish speaker even to the point of assistance beyond what one would find in a home language hotel. I highly commend this establishment and its friendly staff.
Loved the private room after a long day on the road. The staff was exceptional. Everyone we had contact with was hard working and friendly. I can’t say enough about the staff. The room was very comfy with private bathroom and small kitchenette. We were able to have our clothes washed and dried in two hours. The menú in the restaurant was delicious and large portions.
Hosteria Sabina is very good. It serves good meals for a very reasonable price. The rooms have good television and Wifi. Many pilgrims start the Spanish Road here. In Roncesvalles you may still experience the old "Camino de Santiago", much more than later on during your long walk! (Buses almost daily from Pamplona).
Arrived in Roncesvalles tired, wet & dirty after the Camino & was so relieved that this hotel was literally there at the end!
Very friendly lady at check-in who explained everything to us!
Beautiful room & surroundings.
An exceptional hotel for weary Camino’s!
would highly recommend……
This lovely hotel is right on the Camino. Communication was great. Our room, in the roof, was huge and the bed comfortable. our dinner there was delicious (book as it gets busy). It is also right next to the church.
I arrived walking from Saint Jean Pied de Port very late. They waited for me with smile and gave me a meal even though restaurant was closing. Thank you. That’s a classy service.
The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, spacious, and quiet. We had a comfortable stay at the hotel. The hotel dinner offered good food.
