Breakfast quality was very high, varied and plentiful with local food.
We had 4 dinners - menu of the day - and they were exceptional. We did not expect it.
Located in Capileira, Hostal Rural Poqueira offers great views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Poqueira Gorge. There is a garden with an outdoor pool and a charming summer terrace.

I try to get to Capileira twice a year. I love the peace and quiet and the immense amount of extremely well kept mountain hikes from simple to hard.
Eating out is relatively cheap and there is something for everyone.
If you like the outdoors, piece and quiet and a friendly location you can't overlook Capileira.

The people in the town were so friendly and the location is perfect for visiting all the other villages in the area. Ideal for walking with or without your dog (lots of cats). There is a great Indian restaurant with stunning views.

This village has a charm that is hard to explain, very rustic and the scenery is amazing. Best place to get away from the city and get some peace and quiet. Also great for hiking, there are many places to visit.

Lovely village for relaxing, The restaurants we tried served great food and was value for money. accommodation is always very well priced in early summer. great for hiking and the mountains. the local supermarket is very well priced and not hiked up for tourist. we seemed to get free tapas with every drink at the bars which was nice. this is my second visit to Capileira and i hope i have chance to go back again one day.

A lovely little town in a beautiful location with good access to mountain walks. Also good restaurants, good food shops and lots of artesian/souvenir shops. Traditional buildings and narrow streets make it very pretty. Plenty of free parking. Steep slopes everywhere might make it difficult for people with mobility or cardiovascular problems.
Ate at the Pizzeria, the Cerritos Negro and the Taverna la Trastienda de la Monja. All good but the Trastienda de la Monja was particularly good with a great range of vermouths and local wines, wonderful jamones tapas, good local stews and welcoming waiter/owner.

We could walk round the village from where we were staying, and there were plenty of excellent restaurants. We liked the Pizzarira in the church square , excellent service, very friendly, and the best pizzas we have ever had!
Staying here was magical, this was our favorite place of our Spain travels. There’s something about these mountain villages - beauty everywhere and taking a step back in time yet with modern plumbing! It’s a little rustic but has everything you need. Suggest you arrive while it’s still light out as we had some difficulty finding it in the dark. It is also a little ways from parking and has some fairly steep pathways to get to it. Fantastic views and a fountain down below with fresh mountain water.
Very sweet and cozy hotel in the heart of Capileira. The owners are really kind and helpful. I loved the beautiful small details of the room and the super comfy beds. The view from the terrace is amazing – so lovely to take a morning tea and look at the mountains. Close to all facilities in the village and a prefect starting point for trekking routes. I really had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back. Gracias! <3
Capileira is a magical town and the cottage felt like we were staying back in time...but with modern comforts. Lovely view and balcony, amazing stone floors and beam ceilings, nooks to explore. The trek from the parking to the cottage is quite an adventure - don't carry too much! - but also part of the charm of the town and an opportunity to see the scenery. Highly recommend for a unique, historic and interesting stay.
Simple apartment (1 living-room/kitchen + 1 bedroom) with very nice terrace (far way view on mountains)
The view is from the terrace, from the window in the living room/kitchen. Less from the bedroom.
Uncomplicated and nice hosts. We wanted an additional pillow and they gave us one.
Capileira is a very nice place to stay, very good and inexpensive restaurants, hikes from there. We stayed two nights.
Spotlessly clean everyday. We loved the availability of a microwave and kettle and the supply of instant coffee, PG Tips tea and cooled drinking water. Even the fridge provided in the room was cool enough to look after the cheese, pates and other goodies we bought during our stay. We had a car and used the hotel as a base camp for our explorations for which it was perfectly suited.
A lovely rustic hotel with friendly staff, good food and fantastic views. Our room was small but comfortable and with recently refurbished bathroom and balcony overlooking the village and mountains. The outdoor bar is lovely and it was a bit too cool to use the pool but it looked very inviting.
I booked it last minute as I was spending a couple of days in Las Alpujarras. I was really happy about my decision.
The village is really beautiful and the hotel is cozy, well-mantained. I stayed on a double superior room with balcony and it was clean, comfortable…nice views of the Capileira.
The place is idylic, very nicely furnished, well equiped, amazing terrace, all super clean, good internet.
The owner is friendly, speaks good Englsih, can recomend nice hikes.
When I asked to leave my bag, the hotel was closing, but they found a solution to leave a bag in one restaurant.
The view from the hotel was absolutely stunning! Our room had a big patio which was great. The room was very clean and the bed comfy. The breakfast was very tasty and more than we could eat. Also, there is a very good restaurant on the same property. Highly recommended!!
It’s a lovely apartment right in the center of Capileira, they have a restaurant which has a barbecue and we went there for dinner Saturday night and it was delicious. Very spacious and comfortable apartment, with a patio with a view of the mountains. I hope to return!
Everything - what a beautiful place! Perfectly situated in Capileira with delightful decor, well equipped for cooking and relaxing, and impeccably clean. Lovely terrace looking out to the hills. Helpful and accommodating host. Great base for hikes in the region.
Modern hotel with very nice swimming pool. And a lovely garden. The room is tasteful decorated, nice lightning. Central location. Nice breakfast with choice of eggs. It was nice that they helped us with luggage transport but...
Nice little hotel just around the corner from the main square. Friendly, informative, great value, amazing rooftop terrace. Used the shared kitchen to have breakfast with a view.
