Beautiful, well-kept, quiet apartment in Waltenhofen.
Very clean and organized. 2 chairs, a table and an umbrella on the balcony. Lovely mountain views. You cannot see the castle from the balcony but you will see it whenever you are out.
15 minute walk or 5 minute bike to a large grocery store and several restaurants, beer gardens, and a brewery that serves great food. Petrol station is beside the grocery store.
Comfortable beds. Very quiet at night. Wifi works well. Lots of comfortable seating in living room and dining room.
Well equipped kitchen. Kettle, toaster, coffee machine. You are required to wash and put away dishes before leaving but there is a DISHWASHER so it's no bother. Salt, pepper, and sugar available.
No towels with no option for them, you must bring your own.
About 1 hour 15 minutes on foot to Neuschwanstein Castle - not including climbing mountain to Castle or 25 minutes by bike. A bus loops around and depending on time of day takes 20-50 minutes to get to castle. Add about 30 minutes to each estimation to get to Füssen. Bus stops running around 6pm and starts around 9am. The train station in Füssen had a GREAT ebike rental location. Very easy to take the bus to the apartment from the train station.
Bus stop closest is King Ludwig Hotel - about a block away in Canadian speak. Only a few minute walk. They provide an underground parking spot - we kept our rental bikes down there.
Park on the lake a very close walk from

We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We stayed in Füssen for one night.
We spent the next day visiting the castle. There were a lot of tourists, and the tickets for the castle were booked out.
We came to show the kids, but probably wouldn’t have gone to the top if it was just my husband and I.
Lots of overpriced gift shops, and very much geared for tourism…

Beautiful hiking trails.
Beautiful hiking trails. You can walk to town and Neuschwanstein if you are in good shape. Much better than trying to find parking. Beautiful views. I would recommend going late in the evening as there is not that many tourists.

Neuschwanstein is without a doubt one of the most beautiful castles in the world. We stayed for a day to visit both castles, but wished we had stayed longer to see more of the nature around it as well.

It's in a fantastic location and is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lot to see, not least the castles built by King Ludwig. There are also many lovely walks to take and it's ideal for cycling, as there are lots of cycle tracks. There are lots of superb hotels to chose from, all in good locations and plenty of good restaurants and cafes. The mountains around are beautiful, and one of them has a Tegelbahn (cable car) at the top of which is a very good restaurant and a place for people to hang glide down to the valley below. There are also lots of walks up there with amazing views. Schwangau is close to the town of Fussen, which is well worth a visit and is at the border with Austria. There is also a lake, Forggensee, where there are regular boat trips.

Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking.
Perfect location for visiting the castles and for hiking. Gorgeous scenery. We enjoyed a walk to the lake in the evening at the sunset. Getting around Schwangau is easy both by car and by public transport.
Excellent location right on the lake and in walking distance to restaurants. Hotel offered a variety of rentals (i.e.SUP, Kayak and bikes (E-Bikes/city bikes) and more which was great to explore the area. Free public transport was available to all main attractions which was very convenient in order to get around. Plenty of tourist information material offered. The overall location was just ideal for walks, hikes, biking, swimming and offered magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. Also great for kids (a pony stable) is nearby:-)
The hotel manager was nice, he made sure I knew all the times for breakfast and dinner. The hotel room was clean, and my room had a balcony that had a wonderful view of the mountains. They have a parking lot as well if you drive in. Everything in town is about a 10 minute journey in every direction whether it’s downtown to restaurants, to the castles, or the lakes. Overall I thought of it more as a bed and breakfast, vibe wise, a really peaceful place in the mountains.
The hotel is fairly new and located in a pinterest are between the castels and the lake. The size of the deluxe room was spacious, even with an additional bed there was space to place the luggage. The view from the terrasse to the castle and the lake was beautiful. Very friendly staff at the front desk.
Excellent family-run B&B hotel hospitality in a great location. Lovely varied breakfast. Coffee and cake in the afternoon too. Easy access to Fuessen town and the castles with a free guest pass as well. Lots of rural walks around the area and some good restaurants nearby. Great supermarket in town.
Nicely furnished cosy house. Free parking just outside the house which was great as we had lots of luggage. Very good location to Füssen, Neuschwanstein castle & nature walks which are all close by if you drive. Kitchen useful to heat up food that we bought for breakfast and dinner.
What a quaint hotel! It is situated near the famous castle & an ideal location for nature lovers. We loved being able to rent bikes & explore the area. Ideally located next to Fussen as well! The breakfast was delicious & staff was friendly.
A lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff - the room was very comfortable and spacious with a well supplied bathroom - the balcony had a view of Neuschwanstein castle and the experience was delightful - highly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel, with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and substantial breakfast. The location was perfect for visiting the castles and other local attractions. Will definitely be back!
The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, parking was convenient. The hotel is easy to find on the main road through town, and is only a five minute drive to the two castles nearby.
A very charming little hotel with good size rooms many with a view or partial view of Neuschwanstein. Parking and dogs allowed make this very worthwhile. Pleasant staff, and a nice pizzeria on the location.
Wellness centre was a great bonus, balcony off room, breakfast was good. Great places to eat nearby. Very close to.the castles. Great lounge area where you could sit and chat to friends outside of the room.
What a friendly welcome. Very close to visiting the Castle Neuschwanstein. Fair space to park your car in the back of the hotel. Also clean and a great option for food and drinks. WIFI works perfectly!
The location was close enough to the castle on one end and town on the other. It was one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at. Breakfast was so good and the staff were extremely pleasant!
