Host was waiting for us, always really polite.
He also promptly made a few suggestions on where we could go to have a great meal. We followed the advice and, again, exceeded expectations.
I also would like to mention that since we were going to take the kids to see the snow, the host advise us were to go in Serra da Estrela as a few spots were closed due to hazards caused by the weather. And this was even before arriving.

We loved the house. It's located in a very quiet village about 25 minutes from Coimbra and close to the fabulous Roman ruins at Conimbraga. There are other excellent day trips in the area and all the roads are excellent. The house is beautiful and well equipped. It was chilly weather during our stay but the fireplace made it so warm snd cozy. Carla is very helpful - we all managed with Google translate! This is a wonderful stay.
The atmosphere is great! You live almost in the wildness, in a megical village surounded by wonder view!!! The upper part of the house where the pleasent bathroom and bedrooms are located-has AirC that keeps these rooms warm! Great sleep! The owner helped us with bed linens...Thank you!
my absolute favorite on the Portugal trip. I felt like a queen on every level. Extremely friendly staff, extremely clean, rooms with love and attention to detail and at the highest level. great views of the harbor in many rooms, public parking spaces. Luxury hotel at an affordable price with all comforts, free use of expresso/tea machine in the room and large mineral water. I heartily recommend this hotel to everyone to make their trip unforgettable
The village is remote but beautiful. The schist houses are well preserved and there are many trials nearby. The village also offers different creative experiences/ art workshops for visitors and we highly recommend doing one.
Waking up in this village revives your soul! This is not the typical experience you will have in a typical hotel accommodations! But if you like this type of getaway.. this you will definitely like!
The superior room is a rare gem: you will have all the first floor to yourself, with a luxurious state room, spacious bedroom and beautiful wooden stairs to get there. The view of the river is breathtaking. Ana was incredibly helpful and welcoming, and happy to chat at breakfast.
Lovely breakfast, fresh orange juice from the oranges in the garden and scrambled eggs from their chickens. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Comfortable modern villa with lovely well kept grounds and the pool is a real bonus.

Cerdeira is a mountain retreat that is really unique. A small schist village with a creative difference. I enjoyed the peaceful night sounds of the small creek, the day hikes and even a dip in the (cold, cold cold) 'tank'! Simple and close to nature, this place is ideal for those who just want to just chill and get immersed in that book you've wanted to read forever. Great for a solo traveller. Great WIFI for those that need to fit in work.
Very luxurious and comprehensive amenities! We especially like that the TV was able to connect to Netflix and other streaming services. The jacuzzi tub was perfect after a long day of walking up and down hill, on the beautiful streets and alleys of Coimbra. The view from our room was just magnificent!! The breakfast was served to us in our room, which only added to the luxury. Everything about the stay was perfect! If there's a vacancy, book it! Don't hesitate!
