A beautiful, practical cabin, in which the space has been very well utilised. It is well equipped, and has all the facilities most will need. The heated floors in the hallway were nice. Really lovely bathroom. The view and the surroundings are beautiful, and we really appreciated how private and secluded it was - on our second morning we woke up to the sight several moose chewing on branches not far from the cabin. The hosts are very friendly, and they were quick to answer. All in all, we had a great stay, and feel very comfortable recommending it to others.

Gibostad
Located in Gibostad in the Senja region, Elvestua features a patio and river views. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The holiday home has an outdoor fireplace and a sauna. What we liked about this place ? Absolutely everything. We've stayed in 5 star rated hotels and in remote Buddhist temples. We've been to exciting places like Vancouver and Tokyo and have visited impressive landscapes like the Yellowstone or Death Valley. We have hunted the Northern Lights on Iceland and in Lappland. We have seen the Milky Way in Croatia. None of those places came close to the very authentic, calm and peaceful atmosphere of Elvestua. Coming from Finnsness you leave the paved road (No 861) and drive another 10km over a dirt road into the Norwegian wilderness. The next "neighbour" is about 400m away. There is a little "power station" close by, but that does not disturb in any way. The only sound one can hear is the sound of nature (river and small waterfall very close by the house). The house is old and authentic. It has character and all you need to spend a relaxed time. Even the wireless connection was good enough to manage a 3 hours Zoom session with no downtime. Enjoy a day in the snow, use the Sauna, light up a fire in the barbeque cottage, have a nice dinner, go out and see the Aurora right over your head...what else can you expect from holiday ? We feel really blessed that we could stay some days over here. The host took the effort to come the 40 min from Finnsness to provide us the keys and was available for questions at any time in between. Tommy is a really nice guy with a lot of passion and full of emotion for this very special place and Senja Island. Senja itself is pure nature and not really too touristic. During our time (end October) most "Restaurants" "Bars" and "Cafe's" were closed during daytime or had very short opening hours (e.g. 14-18hrs). There are really not too many people around (e.g. during a 6 hour hike through Anderdalen National Park we only met 5 people). Something for people that seek peace, nature and silence.

Staying in Leif’s cabin was amazing! It was so cozy, so clean and well prepared that we didn’t want to leave. It was so peaceful and nice inside, Leif even left us fresh bread to eat. All accommodations that you can possibly need are provided. The whole village is great, we had the luck of seeing an otter in the ocean when we took a walk and of course- we saw the northern light right from the window of the cabin! It was absolutely surreal. Just a special place.
Location was good because it was almost the Senja scenic route. Beautiful fjordvillage. The house had a lot of space.
This apartment is situated somewhere at the end of world in the very quite village near the fjord. It is really roomy and comfortable. We had enough place for a family of five people, well equipped kitchen and bathroom. When being at Mefjordvaer we immediately felt the atmosphere of small and lovely village. Sebastian is a wonderful host that prepared a house to our late arrival and helped us to organize a nice boat safari.
The cabin is very cosy. Airconditioning and the possibility to make the room total dark help you to sleep during the warm and sunny summernights. The host was very friendly and helpful. In the village there is a good, small grocery store. The location is good, it is easy to make trips to different parts of Senja. I recommend this accomdation for all families and couples exploring the beautiful Island of Senja!
Everything, a fantastic place to spend a night en route from Lofoten to Tromsø. Amazing restaurant, loved the halibut. Small village with incredible views. Especially Knuten for the midnight sun.
The resort is right on the fjord, and seems to own many villas both on the shore and immediately across the street, just inland of it. The staff were excellent and it was very well-organised. We were there during a big storm that made it impossible to take advantage of all the hiking and sea-based opportunities, but it was a cozy place to shelter! The main highlight was the restaurant, which was the best place we ate at in over a week in Norway.
Really big and well equipped apartment in a beautiful village!
It's a beautiful village and the property itself is nice too and brand new (central area and rooms) and well appointed. The location is great and there are some wonderful walks straight from the property.
Everything perfect!!!The hotel is located at one of the most beautiful villages in the whole Norway. The room and the restaurant are so clean and warm, with nice and modern decoration. The staff is so kind and the breakfast has so many choices. The hotel itself is amazing and it is the best we stayed in the country and one of the best that we have ever visited in Europe!!! We wish that we could stay longer and give you more than 10/10...
