It is in a bit remote location if somebody wants to do sightseeing, but it is a great place for a relaxing time. The hosts were very accommodating. Marbakki was a very beautiful, secluded property. My family and I loved the design of the house - it was very cozy and made us feel right at home. The villa had a lot of great touches including a well stocked kitchen (various spices, coffee pods, etc.) and yoga mats. The rooms were small, but the beds were very comfortable. Although there is only one bathroom, it was spacious and very clean. The outside deck overlooking the ocean and the hot tub were amazing. We enjoyed sitting and relaxing in the hot tub while taking in the ocean and mountain views. I highly recommend taking an evening or morning walk on the beach!
Our family really enjoyed this villa and we will keep it on our list for future Iceland trips!

Location was perfect - great views and at start of hike to Anarstapi. The jacuzzi was amazing and lack of light pollution in the area allowed us to see northern lights. There were various supplies in the pantry which was useful. All rooms equipped with comfortable bedding and bathroom had good shampoo. Amazing standard of accommodation.

Saudafell Guesthouse has been in the same family for 4 generations. It has been renovated and finished in 2011. The living room is furnished with historic charm, with a great view over the property, and a porch. We had most of the guesthouse to ourselves in March and stayed in a nice spacious room on the ground floor with a desk, which was quite the luxury! The spaces are kept very clean, and Berglind comes over to prepare breakfast every morning. It was delightful! Highly recommended!
We loved the atmosphere, it was cozy but chic. The smallest details like the handmade cups and organic icelandic soaps made it feel luxurious but homey. The staff were absolutely amazing, they went out of their way to make our stay so special and memorable. Krzysztof the night guard was super helpful and nice as well as the woman (sadly didn’t get her name) who served breakfast and was a great host during the day. It was so cozy and nice that we loved hanging out in the bar area with a cup of tea and playing scrabble.
The bed was luxuriously comfortable, the shower was amazing and the kitchen was well equipped. And the room was well heat and noise insulated. Unfortunately the weather was bad that day so we weren't able to make the most of the location. The room also included a voucher for 2 drinks at the Valeria coffee house which is just down the road. The coffee house is exceptional as well and worth a visit. They get coffee direct from the farmer in Columbia and roast it themselves, best coffee I've ever had.
My favorite accommodation in Iceland during my past 36 times traveling in Iceland. It's too comfortable to let you prefer staying in the villa than going outside.
Beautiful, fragrant, cozy, clean and spacious house. Luxuriously equipped kitchen and bathroom. Excellent and rich breakfast. Host really very friendly, hospitable, amazing entertainer and storyteller. The friendliest Icelander we have ever met. Thank you so much, it was a lovely evening and morning.
All the positive aspects of luxury hotels. Modern, clean, comfort, etc. Very good dinner. Exceptional breakfast.
