Bigger room than we thought. Comfortable. Good showers. Dishes and stove were good!

Great location and friendly staff. Easy access to the beach and incredible views of Vestrahorn. I thought the viking village was interesting, even though it's a fake movie set, it felt eerie exploring it all alone in the evening.

Convenient location - close to the “abandoned Viking village” film set, black sand beach, picturesque mountains, and the coast with a lighthouse and seals. When you stay here, they provide you with a QR code to enter these places for free. Clean room that was pretty big compared to others during our trip. Good breakfast. Small gift shop area in the cafe. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely stay at The Blackhouse. Self check-in allowed us to arrive later than usual and have a seamless experience. Like others have mentioned, the lack of a stove with pots and pans was a bummer, but the estate more than made up for it with the luxurious space and cleanliness afforded to us from the get go. Would definitely come to stay again :)

This is as our 2/4 home for our trip, and we hit one of the worst storms en route. Check in time ends at 7pm, fyi. The room is a little tight but works for a couple. Otherwise the location and breakfast from the cafe was absolutely amazing. The view is breathtaking. The Viking village was so cool. Get the waffle !!!!

We booked this hotel to be in the shadow of Vestrahorn mountain. This is one of the most phoographed locations in Iceland with this amazing mountain and it's reflection in the shallow bay in front of it. There are also some great hiking trails nearby and a cool Viking Village movie set worth checking out. The hotel only has a few small rooms but staying here is all about location, location, location! Check out the Icelandic waffles and hot chocolate in the Viking Cafe; it's a great afternoon treat!

Absolutely amazing stay. Hotel is located next to the ring road and out of any villages, perfect if you are hunting for auroras during the nights. Views are amazing and we even got to see the auroras from bed! Breakfast has little options but delicious and dinner on the hotel was really good too. Staff was amazing throughout our stay. Even though the hotel was fully booked, rooms were super quiet. Overall, not a negative thing to say, it was perfect!

The location was amazing. The beach and the Viking village was very close by, and entrance fee to get to the beach/ Viking village was included in our stay. The staff and breakfast was wonderful.

Situated in the nice location, completely off the beaten track. Access is provided to the Viking village & the black beach. Views were well worth the stay alone.
