EVERYTHING!!!The property was ideal! Each room was spacious, clean and well equipped! The village was quite remote, however, this was exactly what my family and I were looking for. Lots of little extras including family board games and hot chocolate and coffee for our arrival. The local pub was a two minute walk and although we didn’t eat there, we did grab some take away chips, along with a drink whilst we waited!

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Beautiful Traditional secluded country cottage provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. This holiday home offers free private parking and full-day security. The property is non-smoking and is located 15 km from Drumlanrig Castle.

This is such a special place. Beautifully restored with all the comforts of home: comfortable, cosy, convenient to local sights and services. Nearby Sanquhar is a fascinating, historic village with a small but thoughtfully curated museum in the Tollhouse. It also boasts the oldest Post Office in the world. Mennock Pass is spectacular. The kitchen is well equipped to cater simply for your stay. A washer with detergent supplied made staying for 5 nights so easy. Ben and Tim are lovely, friendly hosts, and we appreciated the welcome pack of some fresh bread, fudge and some Irn Bru. The views from the cottage are stunning. We would return in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it to travellers looking for something a little different.

It is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location with lots to see and do nearby. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and there was plenty of space for a family of four. It was a short walk to the village which had shops, pubs, and a petrol station and the locals were really friendly. Loved the walk along the stream right next to the cottage!

The cottage was amazing and so much bigger than you think. So cosy and homely. Really quiet and peaceful. And loved that the private pool was 2mins away. Would definitely go back.

Perfect location in an outstanding setting. Lovely village with interesting and easily accessible walks. Great for walking the dog. Really nice and welcoming pub just yards from the front door but no noise problem at all. We really enjoyed our stay in this picture perfect cottage. Rear garden was actually the side of a small mountain that had sheep roaming so unable to allow the dog out in a contained area. That said the area was so peaceful we couldn’t criticise that aspect too much.

The setting was beautiful and the cottage was wonderfully quiet and cosy. The fireplace was just what we needed to keep us warm and the heated pads in the bed made for a lovely night's sleep. There are lots of good walks nearby and the village isn't too far from shops should you need anything.

cosy quirky cottage very well thought out .well appointed and very comfortable :perfect for a short stay. longer may have been more difficult due to lack of space to store clothes . The cottage was very clean and fresh and all basic cooking necessities provided. There are no shops in the village so the very generous welcome pack provided by the owner was very much appreciated . There was also a very useful information file covering things to see and do throughout the local area including a comprehensive list of local walks .
