We've stayed in several of the old fishing villages on the Moray coast, but Findochty is the finest: gorgeous vistas, especially from the perfect situation of the property. The village is very quiet and peaceful, and so is the house - didn't hear a peep from any neighbours. The owners are very friendly, and thoughtfully left a bottle of wine in the fridge.

The house has been beautifully furnished and decorated with real attention to detail and well stocked kitchen equipment. We stayed in February and there was a plentiful supply of logs to ensure we stayed toasty - the log fire made the living room really cosy. The village has a lovely harbour and you can walk up to the War Memorial for a lovely view. There is a wee shop and one pub which has a big restaurant but I would still advise you book in advance as it was super busy when we were there but the food was great.
